Rinkadink - Pirate Signal - 05-Jun-07 03:46 PM
This was the first Rinkadink album I heard. It is still the full-on psychedelic trance album that I like most!
Even when compared with Rabbit From Darkside I actually like this album better, because for me his first album is a bit too crazy; its too full of that crazy psychedelia to my taste...
This album is well balanced and powerful. Great to play at high volume!
Void Settler - None Follows The Sunrise - 31-May-07 03:38 PM
Wow this album is really worth a listening! Or I should actually say a few listenings, because its not very accessible. Void Settler as himself or as Sandling and/or Labyrinth, puts beats, samples and voices in a blender and shakes and cuts it up. Almost no 4/4 beats in any of the tracks, except a few tracks at the end of the album. Best track is Her Naked Thin Glass-Made Clock, a mix of hardcore bassdrums with delicate melodies. I would urge people not to give up on this album after one listen, because it is a great album, although not for the faint-hearted.
Gotan Project - LunĂ¡tico - 26-May-07 03:56 PM
This is such a sublime release! I think it is even better than their debut album la revancha del tango. The cd takes the blend of tango and electronics to another level; most tracks are more classical tango tracks with electronic support than the other way around.
A brilliant cd that you can play on a lazy sunday in the background or you can move to when you up the volume. I have not met a person yet that did not like this cd. Try it and you will like it, guaranteed!
Various - Hypnotrance - The Intergalactic Hard Trance Collection - 16-Jan-07 12:00 AM
Very good quality hardtrance/rave on this double cd with tracks from (mostly German) known and unknown artists. To bad that after the second cd ID took over and changed it into a series of trance cds not worth listening to.
This cd is in my collection now for over ten years and it still is a cd I often listen to. Most tracks are very decently composed and I would almost say that the new hardtrance producers should take an example by this album.
Weiderst track on the cd is that of Ilsa Gold, with piched-up german women singing under a distorted bassline and a young mans voice telling a story about Silke, a giril who is addicted (suchtig in German) to drugs.
Les Rythmes Digitales - Darkdancer - 03-May-06 01:49 AM
This is a VERY strange cd. Tracks sound like electro-pop of the early days, but with a techy edge. A weird combination of these two styles yields this album with brilliant but awkward tracks. It became famous by the song used in a car commercial in 2005. Some of the songs are just over-the-top electro-pop in a way that makes the tracks sound very funny. Just take this album with a smile and you will like it. Do not take it too serious, although do note the great diversity and good track compositions!
