Black Science Orchestra - Keep On Keepin' On - 13-Jan-02 06:32 AM
The dancefloor loves it, however, unfortunatley, its one of those annoying tracks where the chorus never *shuts-up* to give you a chance to smoothly mix out of it. Whats with these producers? Clearly, they are pimply geeks that do not actually have the balls nor finesse to excercise themselves as DJs, ahem.... If it broke down a bit to allow you to mix, this would get top marks. Unfortunatley, this one ends up collecting dust despite some very strong features. Its sadly unworkable... Whhhhyyyy????

Beltram* - Energy Flash E.P. - 13-Jan-02 05:40 AM
Though not my current bag, this record clearly marks the move towards the clean and dubby production styles which are now the standard of all current and *relevant* genres, encompassing the ranges of both house and techno. Stripped-down and bassline-oriented, its a seminal piece... A masterpiece of simplicity during an (unfortunate) age of baroque nonsense (1992-1995)! Beltram... ou est vous? Wed love to hear some deep and funky driving house from you! Afterall, your early NuGroove releases were pure house through and through... Do you still love NYC? Consider this a challenge... :) Wazzz Uppp? God forbid some crack pipe bull sh** took you away... COOOOMMMMEEEE BBBBAAAACCCKKK!!!

95 North - Forever Underground - 11-Jan-02 07:10 AM
One of the crown jewels of any driving-yet-funky set. It sez it all without being pretentious. Works very well as a bridge when you want to take it to a harder and dirtier groove... HIGHER! HIGHER! I love this track....

Mondo Grosso - Star Suite - 10-Jan-02 08:11 PM
A beautiful and uplifting epic 15+ minutes long. A spoken word piece runs through the first 2/3 of the track and then it explodes into a powerful gospel-like chorus. Brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it. The flipside is the dub minus the spoken word... I dont really see the point since it really forms the backbone of this track. Highly recommended!
