Dillinja - Deadly Deep Subs / Calculus Beats
Nov 29, 2008
Perfection. Lush pads, an incredibly manipulated break (such a unique use of the 'think' break) eerie synth and vocal samples from Reeses 'Just want another chance' and of course, deadly deep sub bass. Along with 'silver blade' this is one of those Dillinja tunes I can listen to every day and never tire of. The intricacy and attention to detail in tunes like this is what sets Dillinjas' work apart from that of most other producers. Top notch.
Klute - Curley Wurley / Splendor
Nov 28, 2007
'Splendour' is probably my favorite Klute track ever, and thats saying a lot. The instantly recognisable melancholy detroit synths give this track an incredible vibe, which is at the same time heart wrenchingly sad yet also strangely uplifting. Haunting female vocals call from deep beneath it all. I dont like 'curley wurley' a whole lot but this 12" is more than worth tracking down for 'splendour'. Big ups to klute for always bringing the deepness. 'Splendour' is essential listening.
Seba & Lo Tek* - Sonic Winds / So Long
Oct 17, 2007
"So Long" is one of the deepest tracks you will ever hear. I agree 100% that this is the sort of tune to listen to in the dark by yourself. Stunning. I can confidently say that I will listen to this tune for the rest of my life. The way the amen slowly fades in and joins the other two breaks is incredible, and the atmosphere created in this track is unrivalled. Along with tracks such as photek - "rings around saturn", and goldie - "sea of tears", "so long" is an example of how powerful drum & bass can be. | ||||
