Reviews & Discussion:
Almost approaches the hights of abstraction and pure sonic innovation of "Confield", yet holds back in the name of greater musicality and a handful of rhythmic signifiers that keep ther overall proceedings grounded. Nice balancing act that Booth/Brown have achieved with this one - moving forwards and backwards simultaneously. The track "Pro Radii" is a particularly fantastic example of where they might be heading next.
Most convoluted, abstract, unapproachable, dissonant and adventurous album by Booth/Brown to date - in other words; its likely they will never make another work of this kind of pure realized artistic vision and aspiration as sonic sculpture again. Following efforts "Draft 7.30" and in particular "Untilted" have come close - but "Confield" still remains their masterpiece. | ||||
