God Machine, The - Scenes From The Second Storey - 03-Jul-07 03:38 AM
There is a deep stillness and beauty at the heart of this thunderstorm of distorted and guitar and tribal crashing drums. God Machine seemed to speak of the divine at work in the seeming madness of the world. Stranger and deeper than any of the other rock of the time, and has matured with age.
Peace Jimmy, in the void.
Cosmic Trigger - Marauder / Ghost Of Acid - 06-Dec-06 04:42 AM
This record is quite a departure from the usual SUF sound, and is, in my opinion, a real classic. Side B is more Acid House than frenetic techno, with a slow building 303 line, snaking over a throbbing bass line. The synth at the end sounds a little dated, but still has a certain charm to it. Side A is actually quite a slow BPM for SUF, and has a menacing, rumbling power to it, with some effective layers of synth making for a great, and underrated, tune.
Lochi - London Acid City - 13-Nov-06 10:43 PM
Whilst not one of the most powerful Stay up forevers in my opinion, this record has become such a classic as to defy descriptions as good or bad. It became the anthem of many reclaim the streets protests , and the insistant sample London, acid ,city has got party goers on their feet across the world.
Prana - Message For East Edge (Rmxs) - 13-Nov-06 10:09 PM
The prana mix on here is what makes this a must have record. Although the doof mix is good, Tsuyoshi Suzuki is on fire here. DDR does a great job bringing a london acid sound to Pranas eastern melodies, and the combination is great here. When that hi-hat and twisting acid line come in, its impossible not to want to get up and dance!
Astral Projection Featuring DJ Jörg - Mahadeva - 13-Nov-06 09:25 PM
Its hard to describe the way this tune swept away all those who heard in amazement at the time. Turning many new ears onto the Goa scene, The opening pounding bass line and vocal chant turned parties into wide eyed, wide smiling euphoria. Still sounds better than anything that has come since in my opinion, and heard under the starts in Anjuna, totally unforgetable and unbeatable piece of sonic magic.
