Reviews & Discussion:

Although I purchased this album as a dj tool, it turned out not be very usefull for that purpose. However, what Quantec shows here is dubby slow and hypnotic techno at its best. Dark and deep chords, nice and captivating soundscapes make this an excellent album and a must have for all the dubby techno/Basic Channel-influenced technofans.

Put the record on and enjoy the journey.
Merciless record, unbelievably strong and such impact man still love this one!
Kobbe - Photosphere Apr 22, 2009
I never understoud why this track isnt a little more popular.

It's such a great representation of all the good Napolitan / tribal tracks that were released just before the minimal boom. God I miss tracks like this, the make a crow explode and dance until they drop.

Photosphere is one of the most energetic tracks is know and it works in all kinds of technosets. The transition after the climax makes this just a classic peaktimer. Works every time!

Surgeon - Force + Form Mar 23, 2009
To be honest I couldn't agree more with the former reviewer, this album is the absolute creme de la creme if were are talking about techno. This album triggered my love for techno and I am still in love ever since.

In all kinds of way this is a revolutionary album. It consists of track all about 10 minutes, which are actually 7 or 8 tracks. The tracks are sort of mini sets. Besides that, it mixes Surgeon's well know hard and raw industrial techno style with ambient athmosferic soundscapes, something I haven't heared before, not in this form anyway.

And every part of this album is totally unique, freaky, haunting and very captivating. The remakes of this album, which are more functional dj tools, are worth a listen too.
Ice queen, a track I first heared at the legendary club Tresor in Berlin. it's an uplifting minimal track and the title sort of discribes what the song is about.

It's rawish sound, which makes it sound like it hasn't been masterd properly, gives this track it's charm, along with the melody ofcourse. The other side of the ep. isn't as interesting Ice Queen, but formation flying is certaintly a good flipside (although formation flying is mentioned to be the A side)

Anyone who doens't know the label TicTacToe, should give this one a try, and otherwise try Trentemollers 'Gush' on the same label.
Douglas track is a highly energetic cover of the film 'A perfect murder'. Michael Douglas plays the cold and cunning businessman who's trying to get rid of his wife. After failing he replies to Gwenyth Paltrow 'What if there was no tomorrow? - You know better than that..'

This is one of the better filmcovering technotracks I 've seen and works on the dancefloor anytime. It's a real shame they don't make them like this anymore.
This track is an absolute Napolitan animal. The remix by Rino Cerrone has probably the same or perhaps even more impact as 'Crash and burn' which was released on unrillis. This one just like the original, by osuna is an impacthammer, a peaktimer like you've never heard before. Check the Marco Carola set @ shockers 2003 for full effect. It's a shame they dont make them like this anymore. the last two records that had the same amount of drive are paco osuna's 'Spring' and paco osuna's remix of Killians 'open'
