Ola / Geiom - SMAK 05 / 06 - 20-Jun-09 05:58 PM
Not much has been said about the SMAK releases so far (1-14) and this one is the pick of the bunch. Opening with which is quite possibly Ola Bergmans best track Othello, an amazing piece made up of a thick bassline, neat drum programing and nifty synth work ending up sounding like so few elements it just drips class. The sort of track which makes you ask what was that?. The other tracks on this side are all good, with Posca giving us another of those timeless moments. The other highlight is the last track on side 2, Geiom - Isene which has the same elements of the Ola track on side 1, thick bassline and a rhythm section made up from a prodding bassdrum and neat programing. Electronic music at its finest. This kind of stuff just makes you feel warm inside.
Ive bought a few SKAM releases and listened to most. And I guess if I had to choose one to recommed or comment on, this would be it. A future classic.
Pressed on the heaviest vinyl ive ever seen.
