I collect records from Kraftwerk and The KLF/JAMs/Timelords/etc. Feel free to contact me if you have their items for sale, but please, please, please double check which specific releases I'm looking for. For example, I only collect original UK versions from The KLF.

My records are not for sale, so don't even bother to ask.

Kraftwerk - Electric Cafe - 12-May-06 08:50 AM
When fans have voted for their favourite Kraftwerk album, Electric Cafe has never done very well. Its release was delayed for years and when the album finally came out, it wasnt as pioneering as the bands earlier works.

Despite all that, Electric Cafe is surprisingly one of the albums I find myself listening to over and over again. Side A is just hypnotic in its monotonous sound and side B features The Telephone Call, a true eighties pop classic no matter how unlike Kraftwerk it sounds. Sadly the title track which ends the album is just plain rubbish and probably the worst piece of music made by the band.

All in all, Electric Cafe is an excellent pop album, but not as original and influential as what were used to expect from Kraftwerk.

Kraftwerk - Expo2000 - 25-Apr-06 05:57 AM
Nearly a decade after their previous release, Kraftwerk returned in 1999 with a 3 second long jingle for the world exposition of 2000 in Hannover. The bit became a new song and was released as this single. Later on the track was remixed and renamed to "Planet Of Visions".

Both sides are labeled 33rpm, but B-side is actually 45rpm.

Aavikko - Лустыня - 19-Apr-06 04:39 AM
Played only with a set of drums and two keyboards, this instrumental EP is the breathtaking debut release of Aavikko, an experimental lo-fi trio from Finland. First track "Alas Volgaa" sounds like a swinging, futuristic jazz version of the trance classic "What Time Is Love?".

Kraftwerk - The Mix - 18-Apr-06 06:44 PM
The Mix is not a compilation or a remix album, its a batch of old tunes reworked from scratch. While some tracks like Heimcomputer and Trans-Europa Express merely update the old analogue sound without really changing the music, others use the old bits and pieces to make something completely new. Radioactivität adds a stomping beat and a political message to the old classic and in Die Roboter (The Robots) timing of the famous melody is altered to give the song a whole new twist.

Altogether, a great set of music, but naturally not a replacement for the original versions.

Ultravox - U-VOX - 16-Apr-06 05:51 AM
With drummer Warren Cann leaving the band before and Midge Ure right after this album, U-Vox turned out to be the ending point of Ultravoxs success. Last track All In One Day is a great finale for the bands story, but sadly the rest of the record is not quite their finest hour. The unique sound is just not there and non-Ultravox elements such as cheesy horns & female backing vocals make this just another 80s pop-rock record with absolutely nothing new or special to it.
