Reviews & Discussion: Its all about the Rick Miranda Re-Rub!!! A simple but infectious House groove that you just dont want to stop... With a nice Rhodes keyboard lick, clipped snares scattering throughout ala Todd Terry's earlier productions, nice warm sunshine sounds swirling all around and a sneaky low slung Acid bassline way down in the mix to keep you bouncin'... Then later on he brings in some lush Hammond sounds and a dubbed out female vocal. Devastating!!! Perfect music to get lost in on the dancefloor :) Oh sh-i-i-i-t!!! What an L.P. Not only does it have an 18 minute version of the excellent I Wanna Be There. The B1 track NEPTUNE is one the most STUNNING pieces of music I have EVER heard. In this sublime 12 minute soundscape, Magic Juan (with the expert nob twiddling of Maurizio) has managed to recreate the VERY sound of DEEP SPACE. Subtle 808 drum patterns and a heavily effected arpeggio rising and falling, like the tides of the ocean, controlled by the moon waxing and waning. It causes a kind of STASIS, which slows down time, allowing you to step out of its confines, but also fast forwards it and rewinds it, so you see countless Sunrise and Sunsets, the turning of endless seasons, all in the same instant. A blinding FLASH of REALISATION. Time has no meaning. Everything is NOW! Your walk in space has begun. It defies gravity. Making possible journey to other planets, to witness first hand the very forces that set the Universe in motion at play. Yes. It REALLY is THAT good. | ||||
