Profile: Was a hiphop kid in the 80s. Used to DJ in the mid 90s which is why I own a lot of house/techno. My main interest really is IDM/Braindance and always has been.

Bochum Welt - Module 2 - 25-Jul-09 09:19 AM
One of the great Rephlex releases. Really stood out in its time, lots of little techno/electro tunes with a great atmosphere. The beats are unrelenting at times but are always coupled with a retro 80s electronic feel. The final track is a great throwback to 80s electro. This and his Phial EP are very strong releases and well worth seeking it. He was making 80s influenced material a long time before most people nowadays are attempting it. Oh, and some nice Vic-20 program on the back cover too :)

Seed (3) - Vertical Memory - 06-Feb-03 06:19 AM
The follow-up to the even more gorgeous "More Beautiful Human Life" by Uzect Plaush on Apollo. This is not quite as atmospheric, but still very worth purchasing.

Limited to 5000. This is one of my favourite ambient albums of all time, I love the fact that theyve taken sounds from their natural surroundings to make a lot of the tracks. An incredible album.

Brian Eno & David Byrne - My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts - 05-Feb-03 06:06 AM
A crazy and much-sampled by dance musicians album. Just listen to the production on the last track "Mountain Of Needles", it is incredible the amount of reverb at a couple of points in the track when there are slightly louder sounds. The sounds just seem to bound off into the distance somewhere (particularly noticeable if youre listening on headphones)

Luke Slater - X-Tront EP. Vol 1 - 28-Jan-03 09:38 AM
Luke Slater before he went commercial. If you want early braindance/techno then this release is an excellent example. The first track "X-Tront" was written with Alan Sage and is very very braindancey. Excellent.
