Dandy Jack And The Latin Lava* - Ein File Für Derrick / Delay Lama - 25-Nov-08 06:48 AM
This is one of the barest, dryest releases in the entire Perlon catalogue. It has a very dark (Ein File fur Derrick) and industrial (Delay Lama) feel to it, that makes the two tracks fit together naturally, especially so since some of the sounds are used in both tracks. It does not have the depth and intensity of the rest of Perlon, and really belongs to the clubs: on phones it is just not captivating enough.
Tiga - (Far From) Home - 19-Jul-06 07:57 AM
The original song didnt do much for me but the number of remixes here makes this a enjoyable release. The Speed of Sexor remix transforms the song in a sort of italo-house-aerobic-instructor track and is great in its uncomplicatedness. The DFA follow their beaten, but impressive path and come with an ever-building 10+minute epic remix. Digitalism throws in some strong synthesizer sawtooth sounds, giving the song an edge.
Trentemøller - Polar Shift - 21-Dec-05 06:03 AM
In my opinion the best release by Trentemøller yet. Polar Shift fires at you from all kind of different angles with crystal clear production, crinkly minimal sounds and a climax that is extatic while being deep-frozen at the same time. Sounds like colliding submarines below the polar ice.
Daft Punk - Human After All - 14-Mar-05 01:26 AM
Enjoyable album. Its not the pure genius of the previous Daft Punk albums, but definitely better than most of the competition. The tracks are repetitive, but thats something you could have been expecting from them, listen to the solowerk of Bangalter and all youll get is repetition. Daft Punk doesnt do pop anymore with this album and is back on the dancefloor, doing some good work with tracks like robot rock, technologic and human after all
Ellen Allien - Berlinette - 09-Sep-03 06:46 AM
Dont be put off by the mention of electroclash above, because electroclash has taken more from ellen allien than ellen allien from electroclash. Berlinette consists of the typical Ellen Allien sound, which can be taken quite literally since the same sound (literally) can be heard throughout many of the numbers, which in this case is a good thing: the album is moody without being sentimental, dark without being cheesy and thick without being grotesque. Something for very late evenings/early mornings in the clubs or on a lonely afternoon at home.
