Due to a bad database upload some titles were mixed up and may no longer be available.

I estimate this to be less than 50 and I am working hard to locate them and either resubstitute them or get them out of my listings.

Tranquility Bass - Let The Freak Flag Fly Jul 13, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
Definately one of the stranger albums to come out on Astralwerks. I remember back then thinking it was a superb title for an album, but only ever got to hear it at a friends place.

However I purchased the lp just recently, and it has to be one of the most intriguing yet fascinating and complex low-fi records I can think of.

So many layers of music in each production adds up to straight ahead folksy trip hop grooves providing the listener with new surprising details each and every time.

I say this album stands the test of time and has matured in spite of and not because it dared go its own ways.

Definately not electronic. Definately recommended for its sublime productions from the little shed in the back of the woods.
The remixes in this release is a crucial testament to the vitality and emotional range in the term Brazilification. Though being stunningly beautiful and respectfully twisted remixes it somehow also bears witness to Fila Brazillia´s own declining artistical production. I dare say these guys have never strain from taking the bumpy road if the outcome would proove original, inspiring and genuine. The backroads they travel these days makes me wish , that they will turn around and release material that is not just dead boring and painfully dull. Jump leads being the latest example.
Indigo blues is a storming latin jazzdance floorfiller. Nice upbeat tempo and wonderful vocal on top - sentimental and uplifting at the same time . Rather strange combination ... but heck .. as long as the floor moves, who could ask for more ??

This Florida based label is one to watch. With this, their third release, Citrona is making their claim to fame delivering wonderful downbeat music heading for the dancefloors when having the remix treatment.

Very much in the vein of Kruder & Dorfmeister, Thievery Coporation and Waldeck.
The vocal on Manilla is the best. Totally out of key, heavy accented, catchy refrain and absolutely charming every body (and leg) on the dancefloor. Great bassline as well...... The highlight of the album.
Spook - Feel Up Nov 06, 2003
The track features the vocal talents of Roisin Murphy of Moloko fame, and has to be the most tribal orientated context she has been featured in. Never the less it is a stunner. Originally it is a track by Grace Jones, which I guess counts for the semi dirty lyrics :-))) Brilliant
This track is a modern dancefloor classic. Should be part mandatory listening for every Dj outthere who spins jazzdance, latin flavoured tracks.
Once again pure wizadry from Waldeck. The use of Chet Baker´s vocal in this dubby, moody yet straight forward and incredibly catchy tune ( works well on the dancefloor ), makes this an all time classic as well as personal favourite track.
This is a masterpiece that helped break UFO on the height of the Acidjazz wave. It epitomizes the acidjazz feeling as heard in Poetry And All That Jazz which holds the beat generations favourite author; Jack Kerouac reading out a passage from the beatnick bible ; On the road. Still fresh and aspring to be one of the best 10 albums in the acidjazz genre.
I wonder what this release is aiming at. Hats off for the label and the diversity in the releases, but this one lacks the positivity and genuine feeling that many of the other releases has. Definately a dark raggalike track that fails as compared to the previous Minus 8 release; Theia. Will stay faithfull though, just dont let me down. Keep on being Brave and bold :-)
