Ik ben een muziekliefhebber en mijn voorkeur gaat vooral uit naar soul, dance en disco 70s 80s. Maar ook vind ik dance uit de jaren negentig en Hed Kandi ook leuk. De jaren 70 en 80 met name artiesten als: Kleeer, Con Funk Shun, Starpoint, Melba Moore, Kashif, Earth Wind & Fire, D-Train, The Whispers, Luther VanDross, Total Contrast, The Temptations, System, Shalamar, S.O.S. Band, Patrice Rushen, Royce Rose, Sharon Redd, Jeffrey Osborne, Midnight Star, Loose Ends, Teena Marie, Kool & The Gang, Evelyn King, The Jones Girls, Aretha Franklin, Fatback, Dayton, Chic, Change etc. Ben gek op 12 inches en lp's en door het beluisteren van mp3 vergroot ik mijn muziekkennis. Waarna ik weer op zoek ga naar het vinyl. Maar er gaat wat mij betreft niets boven het vinyl! Als tiener kocht ik mijn platen bij platenzaak Kareltje en ging af en toe naar discotheek Cartouch aan de Mariaplaats in Utrecht. Luisterde naar de Soulshow van Ferry Maat en naar And the beat goes on van Ton Poppes en Leo Coutino. Af en toe nam ik ook In the mix van Ben Liebrand op. Ik probeer 'beetje bij beetje' mijn platencollectie op discogs te zetten. I’m crazy about 12’s and lp’s and listing to mp3 I like also. Because then I learn more songs from the genre wich I love so. The next step then is … to search also the vinyl. I'm trying to put my collection on discogs 'bit by bit' and find it important that the catalognumber on the record is just the same on discogs.
