Brilliantly produced, refreshingly original jazzy stuff. 'Drink' in particular is pure pop perfection( if pop music accepted jazz and broken beats...), once heard you'll never get it out of you head. Fans of Recloose will dig it.

"Rematerialised" is a cover of the scientist's track "Dematerialize" from his 1981 LP Scientist meets the Space Invaders

Much nicer than all of his later crazy material, Selected Ambient Works is one of my all time favourite albums. I could never really understand the inclusion of Green Calx though, theres no denying, it's a top track, but it's ping pong beats and acid mentalness are completely at odds with the rest of the album.

Although the original version has long ago lost its appeal due to it being on countless chillout compilations and adverts, the photek mix, however, is gorgeous. Similar in style to his collaboration with Robert Owens; 'Mine To Give'.

Although the A side; Romeo, isn't all that great. This 12' is definately worth gettin for the jump-up party madness of 'Bongaloid'. Extremely rude bass, and shouty vocals; the sort of thing Jon Carter would play.
