Freez-E-Style / Pilldriver - Protectors Of Bass - 30-Aug-08 02:13 AM
Pitch-Hiker is of course the most famous track, and yes it is quite powerful despite it's ultimate minimalism.. but i much prefer the track on the B-side, "Awake In Neo Tokyo". One of the best examples of genuinely dark "space arena" PCP hardcore. Without having to resort to too much minimalism or gimmicky vocals which seem to plague many PCP releases. That mysterious drone has to be one of the most twisted sounds Trauner ever created..!

Freax - Desert Eagle E.P. - 19-Apr-08 06:42 AM
As far as 160ish BPM hard-acid goes, you can't get much grittier and rougher than track "Ride it!" The 2 simultaneous chunky 303-lines and the 909 percussion are crafted perfectly and their sound is made extremely rough and heavy here with just the right kind of distortion, making this one of the finest tracks on the entire DBN catalogue if you ask me. The 303 tweaking is used sparingly and it fits here. A2 "Desert Eagle" is a slightly slower acid track and also a very good and hard one, in the dirty hardcore acid style of Freax.

Metalheads - Angel - 03-Feb-06 01:01 PM
The track Saint Angel is a spectacle... starts as ruff early drum'n'bass/darkcore style with heavy breaks nasty bass & synth sounds and then during the last minutes goes into the amazing mellow strings and vocals part while still keeping the breaks rolling. drum'n'bass won't ever be like this again. Truly great!!!
