Corrupt Souls - Wicked Life EP - 27-May-06 03:51 AM
Josh "Impulse" Clarke and his production partner in crime Marcio Alvarado from Telemetrik team up to form Corrupt Souls, a combination making big waves in the world of drum & bass. They sent the first Corrupt Souls material to Moving Shadow, they immediately caught their interest and Moving Shadow offered them an EP. Seppuku is the originally start of Corrupt Souls duo, pure techfunk inside huge darkness. Autoerotic & The Singularity are 2 neurofunk business and Wicked Life is a techy roller including Kill Bill samples. This, their first vinyl release, is one of the most solid MSXEPs in recent memory...Absolutely heavyweight EP for the Shadow Camp.
Telemetrik - Nova / Monochrome - 07-May-06 05:51 AM
A new label for statesiders Telemetrik launches with two fantastic tunes, both sides are some serious tech funk bizness. Nova begins with some euphoric synths and sharp bass kicks before descending into a funky flexing bassline with typically neuro question-and-answer synths. A wacky breakdown section midway through keeps you guessing where the tune will go next. Monochrome is the more dancefloor-oriented tune, with grimey percussion and minimal guitar / piano synths in the intro. A droning bassline ensues before the groove sets in with rolling bongos that funk things up even more. This awesome 12" shouldnt be missed.
Noisia - Monster - 05-May-06 03:08 AM
A truly diverse and inspiring EP from Noisia on Subtitles. Teebee knows the future, and this is it. From the edit-laden insanity of Monster, to the ethereal atmospheric surgings of The Distance, to the rolling (old) Virusy steppers of Sandworm & The Distance, this EP has all that you could ever want.
Various - Subtitles 50 Part 2 - 03-May-06 11:30 PM
Part 2 of Subtitles 50th release. The deeper of the two EP’s, Part 2 features the highly sort after VIP mix of Chris SU’s classic "Solaris". Hidden Agenda’s lost gem "Episode" brings back their the minimal funk. Commix "Libra" is funky futuristic and surging D at it best, Brooklyn’s "With All My Heart" is breathtaking slice of driven liquid. Jazz vibes and a beautiful vocal drifts for one hell of a floater. Drum and Bass for the mind, the body and the soul.
