Agnelli And Nelson* Featuring Burn, The - Shivver - 14-Feb-07 04:12 AM
Shivver* was the first release on the new-look Xtravaganza label launched 2005, and the first Agnelli & Nelson release since "Holding onto Nothing" in 2003 - about time considering the amount of material A have remixed in that time.
The original mix is a decent, tuneful, yet just above-average vocal trance track. However, the JOC remix is a hugely exciting, emotional and captivating euphoric anthem which will get your feet moving and your arms waving!! A must-have record simply for this remix, this is pretty rare as not many copies were pressed.
Track it down - you will not be disappointed. John O'Callaghan is one to watch out for in the future.
(*Quite why there's two v's in Shivver I do not know)
Matt Darey & Marcella Woods - U Shine On / Moody - 13-Feb-07 01:38 AM
"Moody" was the most under-rated trance bomb at the time of it's release. This clever piano-led instrumental piece went largely unheard in the clubs, despite an appearance on a EUPHORIA CD. Intense, uplifting intrumental trance at its best... and very moody indeed!
DuMonde - Never Look Back - 08-May-06 05:31 AM
Listening to this record again today, I realised how far ahead of anything else in trance it was in 2001. The sounds and structures are so complex compared to other output at the time, and Tiesto's remix is a fine example of taking things up yet another notch - incredible stuff! This is an awsome uplifting tough trancer, and I doubt it will age ever. Essential.
Envio - Time To Say Goodbye - 23-Apr-06 04:45 PM
This is an epic track in the truest sense of the word. I was thrilled to find that this record was so much better than Envio's previous release "Touched By the Sun" which, for me, was lacklustre and a bit of a let-down. This on the other hand, is as trance should be: completely euphoric!! I heard it first on Scott Bond's "Ahead" CD (which is incidentally an amazing trance collection) and will never get tired of it.
On the flipside, Passiva's remix is nice, but not as good as the original. Galen Behr's interpretation is good but just quite not as effective in grabbing at your emotions.
The track is a beautiful arrangement, and has to be one of ASOT's best releases.

Locust (2) - Mind Circles - 22-Apr-06 10:59 AM
What a stunning track! I cannot recommend this enough. A completely original piece of trance music from start to finish, "Mind Circles" is a fitting name for this totally captivating, epic tune!
Passiva's remix is clever, and he adds several new elements into the melody, but it's not quite as effective as the original - just like his remix of Envio "Time to Say Goodbye".
Fans of uplifting, melodic trance will love this. I think it's an amazing track, and definately one to showcase in proving that trance is alive and kicking! Sundissential/Tidy kids get lost :P
