DJFresh* Featuring MC Darrison - All That Jazz - 02-Jan-07 08:54 AM
Nice release by Fresh here. Begins with a speedy guitar & a breathing sample, with a female voice whispering "All That Jazz", then its on the run using Adam F's "Circles" basics. Floats better with Darrison's MCing IMO, the Instrumental version sound a bit boring without it.
Overall a light, melodic, kinda repetitive but not too long track - a fun one to listen to.
Lenny Kravitz - Believe In Me (Shane 54's Pink Flood Mix) - 11-Apr-06 05:44 AM
This has changed my overall opinion about Shane 54, a much slower & deeper production than most of his releases. Great build-up, using those percussions in the beginning, floats great till the vocals comes in.. and its only get better from there since the vocals fits great to the beats. The "Crowd" break is very nice, it makes you think like the track has ended, but when Lenny's vocals come back in it makes you think like its a live on stage performance.
Its also got me all confused, since all the time i've thought it was Steve Lawler's work. I've just read in his profile that it was actually misslabled like this in many places since its got something to do with the fact that he's not an american citizen. That's a shame, because he should already be recognized worldwide right back in 2002.
Plastic Boy - Twixt 2004 - 12-Dec-05 03:20 PM
Twixt 2004 - Amazingly beautiful stormy progressive trance monster!
From the very beginning (those repeatable 303s), through the kick off all the way to the break (oh the floating emotional melodic break.. 2 minutes of highly seductive progressive sounds), to the main event in about 5:30 (when it makes you feel like you're standing in the middle of a stormy hurricane and all its left to do is dance to the beats)..
Just think of it like you're the one behind the decks, playing this one in front of a hungry crowd as the 5:30 moment comes.. what an amazing feeling!
Mike has done a fantastic job with this remake, completely changing the basics of the original, and only for the best it can be done.. one of my favorite ones of all time.
Kaveh Azizi - Feeling Alive - 26-Nov-05 03:23 AM
I can only comment on the Original Mix, because I still hasn't got a chance to listen to the other versions.. but I can easily say, that this is one of the most beautiful melodic trance tracks of 2005.
Begins with a little tribal beat, makes you feel like you're about to witness a latin track, then after a minute its on the run with a nice, soft darbucca beats on the background and you get a little taste of the build on melody that's about to come in just after 3 minutes, that's when the first break appears and you get the chance to meet the gorgeus piano melody with some nice wave sounds and those little cricket effects on the background - getting you in a totaly relaxed mood, like you're walking on the beach at night..
In about a minute later, the main melody kicks off & all its left to do is to adopt this "Alive" feeling & enjoy this beautiful track.
