Profile: I use to carry a piece of cardboard around so I can spin on it when I would pop and breakdance against somebody. I saved up money so I could go to Radio Shack and buy me a strobe light, I popped against some classmates and kinda like lost the battle but I remember some girls coming up to me and saying they thought I was better, this was back in 1982, when I was 11. I also remember buying a recorded tape of Looking for the Perfect Beat from some older kid for 4 dollars in fifty-cent pieces, yeah I like OLD SCHOOL>

LFO - What Is House EP Jan 11, 2004
For you LFO lovers, squeeky has that distinct LFO sound. I perceive it to have a classical music sound to it. A high pitched winding tweeting beeping melody ending low with slow metallic bells with long vibrating synth beats. They don't make them like they used to.
THK - France Jan 11, 2004
Sweet Extasy is one of the most uplifting electronic dance songs I have ever heard, it always puts me into a better mood after I listen to it, the track has a European sound that reminds me of a Mentos commercial for some reason. I never get tired of playing it, a very balanced tune. It has pianos rifts, horn melodies, flute sounds, drumbeat mini solos, sampled hand claps, ....sweeeeet..
KRS ONE* - KRS ONE Jan 09, 2004
KRS-One is the only hip hop artist I listen to because he only raps about real subjects and real things instead of all the other materialism mainstream hip hop/rap focuses on.
I give this album a high rating and I recommend you hear some of Kris's stuff if you are in the least bit into hip hop, for instance I know this guy who is into nothing but country music yet has THIS album on cd sitting on his shelf.
This self titled album is one of his best.
Space - Magic Fly Jan 06, 2004
I found this at a thrift store and didn't know what it was, I looked at the back cover and saw that the group was wearing space helmets and said to myself, "this looks good",
well, it was, I likened it to Giorgio Moroder's Chase but much more artistically creative, this album comes across to be way ahead of it's time when it was released in 1977. Fasten Seat Belt starts off really slow with a piano, cymbals and a drumbeat and then throws you into an electronic melody with a pitching vibro beat in the background, really cool. I never get tired of playing this one, there's alot to get out of it.
Dudes, this was such a kick butt 12" when it came out, I remember I was at my cousins wedding reception in '84(I was 13) and they had this DJ that was playing dumb stuff NOBODY was dancing, well maybe 3 or 4 couples, but anyway I slipped him this single, had him play the slavery whip mix and everybody started dancing, the dance floor was packed, even the girl that I was looking at was dancing, she had these black dainty lace gloves on, 80's style stuff.I don't think that DJ ever heard it before because he was trippin' out!!!!!
New Order - Substance Aug 05, 2003
This is such a good double LP. One thing that stands out in this album is Blue Monday, I remember all the lowered disco mini trucks in L.A. playing that tune all the time. It sounded really cool to hear it increase in volume then fade away when the cha cha's would pass. I mean totally, every disco dude played this about 3 months straight.
Another thing about this album is that you can't go wrong with it everybody has a thing for this album.Get Substance.
LFO - Frequencies Jul 20, 2003
If you like electronic music then this should be in your collection, considered by some to be the first techno album, Tommy Boy picked it up because they thought it sounded like electric funk. One word to sum this album up is "groundbreaking", LFO has a certain style that is unmatched even until today. I am shocked to see only 5 members have this.
Loopy, but I like it. One thing to point out is T99's ability to manipulate sounds and make it sound good, what sets this album apart is that it is creative compared to alot of other stuff that is out there.
When this record came out it blew everybody away, it didn't get too much on-air radio play back then but it was playing non-stop in our ghetto blasters. I use to breakdance and pop to Buffalo Gals all the time, most of today's top scatchers/turntablists were inspired by this album. Malcolm McLaren contributed heavily to the hip hop culture with this album. If you like old school you will love D'Ya Like Scratcin'.
This record is unlike anything you have heard before, if you like electronic dance music you must get this one. That's all I have to say, it's that good.
