I just received the cd and gave it a solid listen. And I have to tell you, this may be the best thing Ive heard this year. Wonderfully rich dub with lucid atmospheres and lots of textured layers. This disc boasts a stellar line up of artists.
I am beginning to notice that the gap between genres such as psychedelic chill, IDM and ambient dub has closed considerably. And with this album, those styles virtually overlap, which in my own humble opinion, is a beautiful thing. This is far better than the first two compilations released on this label. Dont get me wrong, I enjoyed those as well. But they didnt have the cohesiveness of this album. Trust me on this, youre gonna want this one !

Wow, I believe this album is worthy of a comment. Krister Linder has written something utterly unique with this disc. The music is an organic body of work with live percussion and instrumentation that blend harmoniously with the shimmering synth-scapes. Particularly the trippy vocal echoes that cascade through the music like water over a fountain. This is ambient, yes, but a rhythmic ambient album that truly finds its way through deep dub sounds. If you think of it in terms of dub music, it nearly re-defines the genre.
This is among my most cherished cds !

This is one of the finest dubs to ever emerge out of roots reggae scene of the 70s and 80s. This album may be one of the very best examples of the direction dub music was to take in the near future. Many producers say that this album alone inspired their dabbling with modern electronic dub.
The vocal album that this was derived from was one of Aswads finest achievments. But when they got into the studio for the instrumental remixing, they found a whole new level for New Chapter of Dub. Absolutely essential for reggae and dub fans alike !

I am pretty sure that this album deserves a comment! This is the quentessential trip hop album. Marvelously chilled grooves with some outstanding cut and paste work. His loops work to perfection. Kid Loco had a real cinematic style to his early sound. Even though it is easy to blow off a lot of the early trip hop stuff to weak production quality and lacking more modern technical wizardry, this is not one you can shrug off. It towers over most of the mid nineties trip hop releases and sounds just as amazing a decade later. If you could only purchase one Kid Loco disc, this would be that one!

Yakshini is an amazing journey through well crafted melodies. They consist of stunning ethno acoustics combined with masterful synth textures. The tribal percussion can be almost hypnotizing, as are the reverberating vocal chants.
If you like ambient and downtempo music with some ethnic flair, then you need to place this album near the top of your want list !! Dont delay, buy it now !!
