Profile: My name is luke mcmillan, more commonly known to the underground fraternity as the dj producer.

i use discogs to list everything that i either
A) AM in possession of
or
B) USED to be in posession of
(which actually means i now only have high quality mp3s of for use with scrath live or ableton live)

all the hip hop is now gone (all apart from my complete streetsounds electro collection)

i have more hardcore techno than i know what to do with, i have loads of doubles of things, multiple unplayed copies of my own productions and loads --and i mean LOADS--of white labels stuff on many major hardcore techno labels that i soon intend ditching.

i will NOT be listing these for sale on either discogs or ebay, but if there is something youve been after for--like--EVER that you may have heard me play, just pop the question, because at this moment in time im really up for shifting a lot of stuff.

I WILL NOT BE PARTING WITH ANYTHING ON THE FOLLOWING LABELS :-

industrial strength, IST, mokum, bloody fist,

SO DONT EVEN BOTHER ASKING.

(and for all you whiny purists who cringe at the thought of selling their collections, let me tell you--i go through vinyl like its going out of fashion--its almost become an "occupational hazzard", and any i do get rid of will barely dent my collection.)

am still buying old warehouse classics from the years 88-91, mainly underground stuff i missed, but fave labels being Transmat, KMS, nu groove, Fourth Floor, City Limits, Dope wax etc etc etc.

so like i said---even if it isnt listed--tap me up,
im a fair dude and will only charge in accordance to values on said pieces of plastic.

later bitches.

Saucer Crew, The - Andromeda - 29-Aug-09 07:37 AM
In all honesty, I have just been completly blown away.

I was digging for trax for an upcoming oldskool set i have to play,
and this baby fell off the shelf (as they do).
Sometimes you have a tendancy to overlook some records (especially when housed in severe quantities like mine are), but as soon as the needle hit the vinyl, pretty much every hair on both my arms stood bolt upright.

From the initial awesome choir like atmospheres, followed by the subtle sine wave arpeggio, to the over awesome first gen gliding reese-esque bassline, you know it straight on, that this is no kiddie hardcore record. Not at all.

The two tracks i refer to, "Andromeda" and "Landing Pattern", are really in a league of their own, the titles say it all, but this really is total f**king space music. Intelligent, multi layered, sublime, paranoid, and very very serious.

The holy ghost crew always did it their own way, listen to any of the other back cat releases and you realize they wernt following current trends of the time, they just made the music they wanted to make.

But this is a very, very high point.
They (obviously) dont make them like this any more,
But in all honesty, No one ever made them like this -- Even then.

If you have never heard this, and your bang into your 92-93 jungle techno, this an absolute must.

1992 sounding like 20202 AD.

Robin Wants Revenge - Robin Wants Revenge - 28-Aug-09 07:25 AM
Hmmmmmm. As the years roll by, this record gets ever more expensive, and the storys get ever more elaborated. Whoever is responsible for this record deserves a very large "Big up".

The thing is thou, i never got a Jungle Jam copy, and after recently aquiring a copy of Maydays "Wiggin", im almost of the mind of forgetting about chasing this record completly.

The reason why? I think i could almost build this myself now.

Take a kickdrum from Suburban Knights "The worlds" (The huge reverb on the kickdrum is identical), Take a loop from Reeses "Your mine", The crazy "Rewind" noise comes care of Kicing Back Feat. Taxmans "Devotion". Then rip the first bar from the main riff off "Wiggin (the Reese mix is where the riff lies solod),
add some TR-909 Hi Hats. Repeat to fade. Thats it.

And doing this would sound hell of a lot cleaner than any RR copy i ever found :)

(Unless someone is prepared to sell me theres for a good price)

INO Presents Sueño Latino - E2-E4 - 23-Feb-09 04:04 AM
Sueno Latino is a classic of massive proportions, But it surprises me that this original version was never licensed as prolifically as its subsequent mixes and remixes.

This E2-E4 version of Sueno is without doubt the best mix of the bunch as it only includes the vocals as an accapella, the vocals only became an actual element of the track when they released the "Latin Dream mix" (sueno latino being the spanish for "Latin Dream") later in the DFC catalogue.

And as a true Techno head, vocals only ever really detracted my attention from the machine noises in question, and while i never really got excited about the consequent mixes of sueno, this is a record i will play again and again. And again.

Looking quite pricey in this day and age, but if you find one in good condition, for a true balearic / warehouse lover, this is a must have piece of vinyl.

Various - Ambient House - The Compilation By DFC - 04-Oct-08 08:38 AM
Another seminal release with no comment??
The shame of it.

I bought this album the same day i bought The Klfs "Chill out",
so that weekend back in 1990 was one of pretty heady proportions.

One (or is that 2) of my standout favorites on this album are the tracks by Morenas, namly "Hazme sonar" and "Somnambulism".

Via the power of discogs, very recently i managed to source myself an original copy of the DFC 020 release that these tracks were taken from.

Proper lovely loud pressing compared to the album (which is always the case) but it seems that the version of "Hazme sonar" that appeasr on the album is a mix or edit of "The vocal remix" and "The Dream Version".

Like they have taken the front half os one version and the back end of the other and glued them together to create the version that appeasr on here.

And to think i was listening to that cut for all these years and i hadnt even heard it properly until now. Bloody awesome :)

Incidentally, ALL tracks bar one on here are a great way of explaining 1st gen ambient house, but that lux track really sucks balls.

Just had to get that off my chest.

Digital + Spirit* - Cool Out EP - 11-Mar-08 10:52 AM
"Highway" is a fucking trippy record. And i do mean that most sincerly folks. This is a record that simply does not stop, Wicked 4 beat loops that roll on and on and on (and on), No edits or fancy stuff, just completely bad boy bass and breaks and thats all that is really required. But this feels more than that, as its atmospherics bleed all the way through the tracks duration, creating a quite paranoid soundscape Whilst this relentless stab noise hits on every down beat, and filters and slides around the frequency spectrum.

This record fucks me up every time i hear it, and its steadyness means it mixes (strangely enough) really well with more hardcore beats.

Total minimal yet fucking enormous.
I think i just talked myself into digging it back out :)
