..but man, proud man,
Drest in a little brief authority,
Most ignorant of what he's most assured,
His glassy essence, like an angry ape,
Plays such fantastic tricks before high heaven
As make the angels weep; who, with our spleens,
Would all themselves laugh mortal.

Stooges, The - 1970: The Complete Funhouse Sessions - 27-Aug-09 09:09 PM
Perhaps the greatest housecleaning record ever conceived.
I grant, I love the Stooges, but I posit that if you do not love the Stooges on one level or another -- love them unabashedly, love them with qualifications, love them with reservations, love to hate them, whatever -- then you may very well hate life, and you certainly hate rock music.
Here you can listen to all six squidillion takes for Fun House. Fun House itself is not the greatest record. But by the time you hit take sixteen of "Loose" (itself no work of genius), something really clicks. Just put it on while you do spring cleaning and listen to the whole thing.
Youll thank me later.
Soft Pleasing Light / Labradford - Labradford/Soft Pleasing Light - 29-Jul-09 03:54 PM
The Labradford track is what makes this item interesting to most people. By interesting here I mean a totemic fetish object, no insult thereby. Alas, as I remember I did not like that track. I never played it again after that first, um, spin? What is it you do to a C-15? Anyhow, youre not missing much, fanboys. Sleep easy. Irrational completists, however, should feel free to gnash their teeth.
The SPL track, though, is really good. Track this one down, and see if you dont agree. And yes, this boils down to "fire bad, barbeque mammoth good!" I assert that I knows me some mammoth.
