Gavin Christopher - One Step Closer To You - 18-Mar-08 09:12 AM
At first I bought this one because it mixes nicely with Tears For Fears - Everybody Wants To Rule The World and Michael Jackson's The Way You Make Me Feel (just try it and you'll hear what I mean). One Step Closer To You has got that same pumpin' kind of rhythm as these two songs. But in the end it's also a very nice tune.
One more song I mixed with the three before mentioned songs was Madonna's True Blue. And coincidently Madonna's Open Your Heart was mixed by Steve Thompson and Michael Barbiero who did the remix of the reviewed One Step Closer To You as well.

Many years ago I decided to find out what my favorite three disco/dance records are. This one came out as a definite #1. And altough I thought my top three would change every week or maybe even everyday Simplicious is still on top of my last as we speak.
This record has it all: a very promising intro, wonderful bass line, a more than good swing and the wonderful vocal performance by Eugene Wilde.
As we said at that time "a gem" and I think it still is.
