Force & Styles - Shining Down / Funfair (Remixes)
Apr 05, 2002
The shining down mix is below par IMO, the rapping and break-beat style does not suit this Happy Hardcore Stomper. The Remix of Funfair is far better than the original, gone have those cheesy vocals, that made this tune want to make you cringe

Sharkey - Bonkers

This is the Original Bonkers, Compilation. In my opinion Number 2 is a better collection of music. This captures the flavour of 96 when Happy Hardcore was at its peak. Check out thye vocal mix of Toytown at the start of Hixxys set, this mix as far as I know was never released and is the Best mix of it I have heard. Hixxys set was mixed on 3 decks. Hixxys is the best mix, it has a wicked track selection and some comical moments in it, with Beavis & Butthead samples and a nice childrens song to finish off with. :@)
Go Mental Records

Maximum Respect is due to Kaos and Energy, Okay a lot of Go Mentals tunes are Covers, but so fucking what? The production is flawless, the tunes uplifting and totally dance-to-able. IMO Kaos is the man who dosent get the respect and adjulation he deserves. If any Rave organisers are reading this... His name is DJ Kaos, hes a fine DJ who never gets a chance at the Big Ravesm ie: Skelter, Slammin Vinyl etc. Anyone who slates Hardcore for the cheese that flys about then they want to look at every other medium of dance music from House to drum & Bass to trance to Balearic there are loads of rip offs, but do they ever get slated? Fat Boy Slim hasnt released a track that wasnt a rip off has he? Anyway If you are new to Hardcore and have never heard of Go Mental, you could do a lot worse than checking out their tunes, visiting their Website and going Raving at Future Dance. Maximum Respect:)
Vinylgroover

Although a lot of people think Vinylgroovers sets are a touch Cheesy, I have to disagree. Okay he does play the odd slice of Emanthal but all in all his sets are well thiought out and mixed to perfection (Dreamscape 27 an exception I think he was Pissed). His scratching is also very tight and not over used. His production skills are also of a very high standard, and some Happy Hardcore Classics such as Time and my Little Phantasy have come from the world of Vinylgroover:)

Force & Styles

Force & Styles are renowned for the quality of their releases. Tunes such as Heart of Gold, Field Of Dreams, Simply Electric and Paradise and Dreams are still cained today. The Boys have released one quality tune after the other since 1995 on Diverse, UK Dance and United Dance. As well as being top producers and remixers they are also a superb DJ Act along with there MC "Junior". Vocals on their Tracks are supplied By Junior, Jenna and DJ Styles. Absolutley wicked. Force & Styles are also the only Hardcore DJs to date to have appeared on Pete Tongs Essential Mix on Radio 1.
