Tata Box Inhibitors - Plasmids - 08-Mar-08 01:24 PM
I simply cant understand why this record isnt more sought after... THE track here is the Placid Mix. True Dobre & Jamez masterpiece ! The build-up of the first part of the track is brilliant : perfect timing in entering each additional instrument, adding tension every time, starting from the beat alone steadily moving to the trancey feel of the synths. There comes the acid line taking it all up to the next level. I once saw Jeff Mills rock the crowd playing the first part of this track with two copies during ten minutes. That should be enough said. Find this. You have been warned !

DJ Elin* - Geile Tiere - 26-Dec-05 10:25 PM
Before being the name of this brilliant release, "Giele Tiere" were a short-lived German band who released only a LP and a 7"
on a small label called Gee Bee Dee in the early eighties. The samples composing the original ("Long") mix here (the bass and voice samples) are taken from this 7".

Indeed, Elin was in a great sampling mood when he made this EP : his "Retro Mix" is quite exclusively composed of samples of the Flirts hit "Passion".

Justus Köhncke - Zwei Photonen - 19-Dec-05 01:04 AM
It is very surprising that no one yet commented upon the fact that "Timecode" and its so catchy melodic gimmick, is built around a sample of the track "How Long" by Lipps, Inc.

This relativizes the "musical importance" of this track which is a kind of "hit" for Justus and Kompakt. But, on the other hand, it also shows how talented can be Justus Köhncke in the exercise of making a brand new track with its melodic progression, built-up, etc. from a quite simple starting point. Brilliant !!

This releases cover is somewhat "turnover-able"...let me explain: the whole cover of Jimi Tenors "Sähkömies" is printed inside. If you have lost your original cover, now you know what to do !
