My favourite Padded Cell release of all. Signal Failure is a pretty psychedelic track, circling around the very cleverly sampled bassline from "Willie And The Hand Jive". It has that sort of techno feel but is executed in a very organic disco kind of way, including its fair share of obscure synth sounds and a wunderfully monotonous "lets just call it percussion" break. And the b-side is definately a psychedelic disco killer too, more on the funky tip but it also includes their typical freaky synth adventures.

This is an absolutely wonderful record. It hits you like a wave, gradualy takes you up, breaks above your head and then smoothly brings you back down below. The great atmospheric sounds, powerful but smooth drums and his generally great sense for detail and instrumentation take the listener on a journey through this mans universe of sound. This being one of the few albums where each and every track really appeals to my taste, makes it the best album of this genre for this year.

In my eyes one of the best deep oriental style breakbeat releases. A really fat beat, dubby delayed vocals and tripped out synths just keep you floating.
