Reviews & Discussion:
honestly I don't think he's demented. vice versa, he is a very smart person... A great mind, which is always, paradoxically, so close to madness.. An example of logical Moebius strip right here? no.. its just people who judge other people, the society: today they call him demented, next day he is a genius.for me he's just too smart to act like the majority of people, and in a way pushed to response thus to people's rudeness and stupidity [check out his writings on Comatonse website, e.g. the autobiographical "I Once Got in Trouble. A Ground-Zero Essay on Bullying"]. after all, we all are a little crazy.

I like it. SO autumn, so damn atmospheric and coherent. I can say for sure it's already a part of me, like, my musical memory, you know. I return to it sometimes in my life, and it evokes the reminiscences from the past related to this music . surely has something in common with Nicolas Jaar's album: these voices of male and children.. and especially that mood.. yep.
I must say almost every song on this album deserves an attention due to the crazy detalization level; I'm afraid I can't actually imagine how much desire and how many hours of hard and scrupulous work did it take Brian and people who helped him to create this work of art. for me Every Other Way is undoubtedly one of the masterpieces of modern [electonic] music, I just can't dare to count the layers hidden in it.. honestly, I shed tears at its infinite beauty. ..And yep. this fading sound of a working machine in the end of The Ghost In You.. the man is a genius. On this album, as well through all his career, he follows the concept of erasing the boundaries between artificial and organic, and creates the future of music. -- Brian, if you're reading this, I just want to thank you for being who you are, you really make people happy. Much love for you! |
