Tribal House - Motherland - 31-Oct-07 08:19 PM
Motherland is a heavy House monster full of mighty female and male vocals over a driving beat and a pumping bassline. The singers are pitching around with their voices in an energetic way all the time and this is what the track constitutes! Occasionally there are these male vocals saying A-FRI-CA. I bought my copy sealed in a shop, so I assume there was a repress around 2004 or maybe it was a remainder.
Polarius - Jams In The Key Of Smack - 11-Dec-06 05:40 AM
The audioquality of this 12" is unfortunately a bit poor. By accident I have it twice and on both copies its the same. I dont think that the plenty of tracks on each side is the reason for that. It more sounds like bad recording equipment/technique. Maybe these tracks are some early recordings from his archive? I dont know... but its a great pity because some of the tracks are really nice!

In the background of "3 Of A Kind" you can hear some hypnotic strings by Edgar Froese. They were taken from his album "Aqua" and the track is called "Panorphelia". I like the implementation in the "Lighter Thief Mix" because its a modernistic stompin loop combined with a psychedelic experience of the early 70s. I dont know why... but in some certain moments I like this track very much!

The tracks are really good, especially "Mental Problem" and the alltime classic "Work That M.F." but Ive got an ultra bad pressing. I think this is a very good example of the way how trax recycled their old vinyl (including the paper labels). Really a shame!!!

Pumpin minimal techno like 10 years ago! If I say "minimal" I mean stuff beyond the todays omnipresent minimal crap. "A1" reminds me a little bit of DBX, but DBXs bassdrum wasnt pumping so hard! This EP rocks!!!
