There is always an interesting concept behind Nuthres studio projects, and Lost In A Crystal Sky is no exception. His subtle manipulations and clever rearrangements of these songs demonstrate his tactful handling of each remix, culminating in a well-crafted collection of delicate electro-pop tunes and minimal house rockers. Executed with finesse, as usual. Recommended listening: Im A Slave For You, Lonely, Bombastic Love, What Its Like To Be Me

On this project youll find producer Omid Walizadeh (aka OD, Omid) collaborating with some of the best MCs in the California underground, including members of Freestyle Fellowship, OMD, Shapeshifters, Hip Hop Klan, and Global Phlowtations among others. The songs are filled with engaging story-telling, conscious lyrics and psychedelic, moody beats which make this compilation an excellent deep-listening experience. Beneath the Surface is one of my favorite hiphop albums, and Id say its nearly essential to track down a copy.
