Reviews & Discussion:
I bought this album in 1985/86 at Jimmy's in Carnaby Street, London. I was sixteen years old and still into the British Mod/Gloryboy revival that had exploded in the early 1980's.The album features some of the Mod-influenced bands that appeared in the latter period of the 80's Mod -Revival. Very sought after and very expensive L.P to buy in mint condition thesedays.
This album is now a definative piece of classic Goa trance. If you haven't heard this album yet, I suggest you do so soon. Honestly, this is a statement to how good underground trance sounds. Get happy, close your eyes & be transported into space by this music. It is where today's watered down trance stems from. Other bands to look out for from this period are Hallucinogen, Eat Static, Green Nuns of The Revolution, Astralasia, Cosmosis.
A couple of Empirion band members lived & socialised in Chelmsford Essex, during the group's heyday circa 1990-95.They have played at many of the underground venues around the UK/Europe, and alongside many of the classic techno bands & Dj's that pioneered underground dance music, during its birth & growth into the mainstream phenomenem that it has become today.
Unfortunately, around 1995/6 one of the band members became ill and sadly died (R.I.P) which left a hole that just couldn't be replaced, so the band eventually dispanded. Empirion made a contribution to the growth of dance music so check them out if you can. | ||||
