Cheers, Carl... I stand corrected! For some reason I remembered this differently, I've since dug out the W/L & the Blue Basique 12" that you guys gave me... It was hazy times back then!
DJ Naughty - Time EP Aug 17, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
Fanta Scienza (Dedicated To Armando), is pure peak time acid madness in the same vien as Armando (R.I.P.) hence the title, as it's paced around the 127bpm mark, it fits snugly into the mix with minimal techno, tech house, whatever... It drops every time!
Switch delivers an excellent slice of fun with this screwball take on Chicago's classic Jacking sound, highly recommended for both DJ's and party animals alike!
Animus Amour* - Don't Run Unless God Says Mar 09, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
Sometime in the early-mid 90’s we took Damon Wild (Synewave, NY) to catch Mr C playing at “Heart & Soul”, the club run by Jeremy Jones, a purely underground party based in London’s East End!

Damon was blown away by the music and the vibe at this party, and the all-day after party that he attended (and ended up missing his flight back to NY as a result!), the track that seemed to do the damage for him was the final tune of the evening ‘Mute Hate’, a bent-up analogue track that mutated in both tempo and style halfway in, it left Damon hungry for more…

At this period of the scene in London you were as likely to hear early Carl Craig trax played alongside Strictly Rhythm or Joey Beltram cuts, because the crowd seemed more responsive to good music than to plain old hype!

This was the dance floor that inspired early Plink Plonk releases – the label that ‘And On’ (PLK 015) was first released – and this exceptional LP, and was later to find itself the sound of Sub Terrain at The End (the club which Mr C is co-founder & co-owner of).

An underrated if not misunderstood LP that I would recommend to anyone who loves listening to Carl Craig, Spacetime Continuum or real analogues doing their thing! I cannot stress how good this twisted, drug inspired CD is!
Dietrich Schoenemann - Motive Three Feb 10, 2005 (edited over 5 years ago)
Head straight for the B-side cut 'Sable Ring', an eerie dark slice of minimal techno, the bigger the rig the more presence this track has, superb!
Second Nature is the 3rd collaboration between husband and wife team Mazi Namvar (Audio Soul Project) & Lori Riegler-Namvar. A mood & rhythm based set of tracks throughout this precise production.
Animus Amor - And On Aug 09, 2003
A colaboration between Jerry (the man behind the legendary club, 'Heart & Soul'. The club that spawned the early London Tech House scene!) and Mr C.
This project was the precursor to the sublime Animus Amor LP.
Another Erik v.d. Broek production, considered by most of the first generation Tech House DJ's from London, as one of the most important 12"'s to ever been released! It's that good...
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..........................
Dirty raw dancefloor acid for people who like it pure.
Every track is sick uncompressed analogue madness, if your gonna kill a record label this is way to do it - go out on a real high.
