Vitalic - Fanfares - 04-Nov-04 04:51 AM
This must be one of the biggest disappointments i've had when waiting for a record to be released. After the HUGE 'Poney EP' and numerous stunning remixes it seemed Vitalic couldn't go the wrong way but comparing with previous material, this can be considered crap, and when i think that it has been 2 years in the making i just can get angry.
LCD Soundsystem - Yeah - 28-Sep-04 08:11 PM
In my humble opinion, "Yeah" is the best tune of 2004. After a quiet beginning and a perfect uplifting progression, there's a breakdown that leads you to pure madness at the end of the song. LCD Soundsystem keeps the innovative style of their succeeded "Losing my edge/Beat connection" EP including smashing lyrics, but now it sounds more electronic, mixing funky guitars with crazy acid synth lines. If you liked the previous release this is a must have for you.
Luomo - The Present Lover - 19-Feb-04 12:41 PM
I remember hearing "Vocalcity" for the first time, I was amazed. AMAZED. When I saw this new release I was absolutely sure that "The present lover" wouldn't be half good as "Vocalcity" so I started to listen and... oh f*ck! This is so emotive and wonderful I am still sold. The production is just PERFECT, sometimes tunes seem to be complicated as hell but at the same time the sound remains so clear...! One of the best albums I own.
Clint Mansell Featuring Kronos Quartet - Requiem For A Dream - 24-Dec-03 04:54 AM
Many soundtracks sound great when mixed with the film but feel emotionally empty when simply played on a CD. Other soundtracks, great soundtracks, are able to stand alone from the film and help you to remember those moments from said flick that grabbed you. Listening to Clint Mansell's score for Darren Aronofsky's drug-addled nightmare "Requiem For A Dream", I still get shivers in my remembering the tragic events of the film via Mansell and the Kronos Quartet's wonderful work.
Umek - Time Warp Compilation.04 - 30-Nov-03 02:25 PM
This compilation is the shit!!! When I first listened to it I thought it was too hard and had the feeling tracks didn't go very well with each other, so it stayed somewhere between the dust for two months... but then I gave it a listen once more and I was sold! Amazing pumping techno with awesome EFX. This is WAY better (also way harder) than "The torture chamber 2". I'm totally addicted to it, Give us more Umek!
