St Germain - Alabama Blues - 10-Sep-09 11:52 PM
This is a great, very signature St. Germain release. Side a goes very deep, while side b keeps it more upbeat. If Side a is about the bass, then side b is more about the treble, if you know what I mean. The vocals are incredible, very catchy and instantly recognisable as this seminal St. Germain track. The songs on this 12" are a great mix of both Boulevard and Tourist styles. For djs this track is perfect. Both cuts on side a have the vocals starting the track almost acapella. The crescendo is really well done and from there the track just rolls on out. Classic french house.
Coffee Shop Mike - Electrasoul - 19-May-08 01:13 PM
These tracks are pretty good, but not as deep as other coffee shop mike ive found. Sounds a little bubbly compared to the few other tracks ive heard. Worth picking up though if you are into this melodic, deepish house kind of sound.
Im pretty sure this record plays at 45 rpm, but the b-side, Do Ya Remember, actually sounds way better played at 33 vs 45 rpm. When played slower, it morphs from a bouncy, sped up house track to a pretty nice chillout groove.
2Pac - All Eyez On Me - 11-Nov-05 02:05 PM
an expensive (still after all these years) album, but worth it if you come across it. Four records, all bangin tracks, absolutely no filler material. this album is probably considered 2pacs materwork, and one of the best rap, and epecially straight gangsta rap albums. some of the best mid 90s westcoast style production you can find. the energy on the album is rampant; within mere hours of being released from jail, Pac was in the studio recording Ambitionz az a ridah and other tracks that made their way to this release. its celebratory and foreboding all at the same time. definitely my favorite 2pac record.
Bobby Brown - Dance! ...Ya Know It! - 12-Oct-05 06:59 AM
This album plays like a non-stop megamix of sorts (see notes). Bobbys current reality TV and other drama aside, this is a pretty jammin record with a beautifully stereotypical late 80s sound (dig lines like I checked my swatch).
