Peter Cook & Dudley Moore - Derek And Clive (Live) - 30-Jan-06 11:57 PM
The track Bo Duddley was sampled by a Guy Called Gerald on Voodoo Ray. Peter Cook actually says "voodoo rage" but Gerald cut the end off the sample so it sounds like 'ray'. He also sampled Dud saying 'Later!' in the same track and there's even a bit of beatboxing by Dud at the beginning. This is a great LP and was recently included in the NME's all time top 100 albums.

Hoodwink - More Millionaires - 06-Jan-06 10:09 PM
The DJ Q Detroit dub is really the only reason to own this record but what a reason. It owes much to Carl Craig's influence and if you're a fan of his early productions such as Piece and 69 you'd be advised to track this down, quality deep, breaksy techno from Q.

Munich Machine Introducing Chris Bennett - A Whiter Shade Of Pale - 12-Feb-05 03:51 AM
It's For You is sampled by Felix da Housecat on Thee Madkatt Courtship LP I know Electrikboy. The track Cosmic Pop is the one and it's an uncredited sample. The Moroder/Bellotte produced/written In Love With Love is the hi-light of this LP for me. Vocodered vocals, that trademark moog bass sound and some lovely spacey synth solos mark this as a forgotten italo gem. The version of Strauss's La Nuit Blanche is also worth checking. Most people will recognise the original from the 2001 soundtrack and this version sounds like a companion piece to The Chase.

Various - Acid Flashback Volume One - 28-Jan-05 01:18 AM
As we seem to be currently in the midst of (another) acid revival it's worth noting that a similar thing happened 10 years ago. This compilation was one of the best round ups of the sound of acid house back then, licensing a range of tracks from the early Chicago and Detroit pioneers, Phuture, Bam Bam, Mayday etc. as well as their European followers, Ecstasy Club, Baby Ford and Humanoid. It could still prove to be a valuable starting point to the sounds which shaped techno (if you can find a copy).

C & M Connection - Another Night - 10-Jan-05 01:14 AM
This is exactly the same as the Blue Chip release but the tracks have been renamed. The Paradise Garage Resampled Mix appears as the italo warehouse mix on the Blue Chip Release and the Techno dreams mix appears here as Bio - Rhythms. Still this release like others on Network is easier to come by than the Blue Chip one. I should add that the track Bio - Rhythms (as it appears here and on the compilation of the same name) is one of the best things produced by Mark Archer and Chris Peat, deep Detroit influenced techno similar to their Nexus 21 stuff.
