Marcella Woods - Voice Of An Angel EP

This is an all time track, however the 2004 re-working is pushing it's limitations a bit too far. If it aint broke don't fix it and that's definately the case here. Sounding a little overcrowded it would of been nice to have seen a different take on this classic. Not wishing to sound too negative it is still a great introduction to Matt and his music and should hopefully inspire people to dig out the original!

Sounding very reminiscent of Liquid Child's; Diving Faces in certain places, this track has a very mystic sound to it. As usual of Darren's productions it all sounds very polished, is it me or does the build-up and latter sections sound a little bit goa/psy? :) Certainly not the best work he's produced but scores a high 4/5 in my books.

Point Zero is absolutely massive, been around for many a year and Matt's 2004 remake still sounds just as fresh without losing any of the clarity or direction of the original. Matt is a very talented producer with lots of emotion and his music purveys that instantly. I reccommend any serious trance fan to take Point Zero for a drive.

Very big tune for me, I'm heavily into well thought out trance music and this one fits the bill nicely. You get the impression Scott Mac knows excatly what he's doing. Swirling synths with a killer drum loop, combine this with a very slight hard house edge and some old school style samples. Hits the spot every time. | ||||
The track reminds me very much of the sort of trance production that was taking place in the 1998-1999 era, having a very dutch feel. Akin to 98-99 artist releases from the likes of Ferry Corsten, Armin and Tiesto; "Moogwai - Viola" immediately springs to mind.
Repsect to Matti for contributing such excellent work into the trance arena.
