Way Out West - Don't Look Now
Nov 12, 2009
A superb album, really showcases the tremendous range and talent of Way out West. They truly are masters of melody and mood from the uplifting tracks of 'dont forget me' and 'melt' to the more broody atmospheric tracks like 'Apollo' and 'chasing Rainbows'. Long may they continue !
Atlantis vs Avatar (5) Feat. Miriam Stockley - Fiji

Lange the man with the midas touch ! In this case dark bass lines open the track leading to hypnotic weaves of the vocal and synths. Easily the best mix of this track available. The guy has such range and intelligence in his production but also incredible consistency at producing a dancefloor EPIC !
I think the original was purely built on the middle vocal breakdown (Heard quite a few DJS opening sets from that point). The sample used is the same as in the track by Hydro - Utopia or 'Only you' as it was also called.

Superb piece of trance ! Yes, the sneakers mix is the one to head for although the angeles mix is worthy of its inclusion also. Flammable was such a consistent label with back to back releases of pure quality in 1999.
I must say if you like 'Heretic voices' it is a must you track down the original versions on hotside records from 1994, this is the version featured on oakenfolds GOA mix. It is difficult to track down ( blue vinyl ) but well worth it, even more driving and hypnotic`! The b side is awaesome also. I actually have a mispressed version on the flammable label with an unknown b2 remix ? 3 mixes in total, any ideas ?

Outstanding record both sides. The Leama and Moor Mix is a beautifully crafted piece of driving progressive house, with excellent key changes, dreamy bleeps and beats. Immensely layered and just keeps going and going , one of Leama and Moors. It is definately one of their darker moments.
The original is more subtle and hypnotic, very similar to a border community release of that time. Has all the trademarks of a James Holden Favourite ! this record is a must find !
In my opinion one of the finest trance tracks of 2004, the B side is fantastic. Deep synths and a blinding vocal. Superb
