Reviews & Discussion:

This is my favorite DJ mix of all time, ever. On a technical level it's a little repetitive, the EQing could be better, the mixes aren't amazingly smooth... but who cares? This CD is all about the groove, and the Chems don't let the feel of the mix down. The last track is my favorite, especially the last 2 songs.

If you love the Chems, you probably already own this record, and love it. If you don't own it, but it... NOW.

This track, a recent pick p for me, is one of the best tracks released, possibly ever, on the Anjunabeats label. The Ecomix is a beautiful, yet somewhat hard track, fusing elements of trance, electro, and house into a wonderful package.

The flip features a great mix by Myan & Shane 54 which has a pretty no-nonsense, but still great electro-prog vibe to it.

This track belongs in your collection, and at the opening of your set.
I picked up this record not knowing that the label was ran by one of my favorite DJs, James Zabiela. I simply found it in the dollar bin and picked it up.

The tracks greatest strength is also its weakness; "Big Ride" is a really, really cool track. The balance between the synth, bass, and drums is truly one of the better examples of the movement toward a more progressive sound.

Unfortunately, both sides are basically more or less song. The "A" side has a more house-y feel, and the "B" has a break beat. That is pretty much the only difference between the two sides.

Don't let that stop you from buying this record though - just don't expect two entirely different tracks.
I got another one of the Y3K EP's recently and decided to grab this one.

Side A is a no-nonsense, no-holds-barred Hyper breaks-fest. Sick organ(?) hits, awesome bass, and a nice overall groove.

Side B is the winner here; BT (as usual) delivers an amazing track. Opening with a nice vocal sample and some semi-ambient textures, the track slams you with super-sub-sonic bass and an awesome hook. A true Nu-Skool breaks track.

In short, pick it up! It won't disappoint lovers of the breaks.
I saw this record for $4 in the record store recently and immediately picked it up - James Zabiela on a Bedrock release? Heck yes!

The A side (James Zabiela's Dakota Bar Slam) is phenomenal. 10+ minutes of slamming bass, wonderfully layered scratching & synth lines, and a beautifully crafted break. A great song, no questions asked.

The B side (Fretwell Dub) is equally amazing, but for different reasons. Fretwell does a nice job of bringing out a techy breakbeat flavor that contrasts wonderfully with the A side. It's a great addition to those relaxed after-party sets.

There is no excuse not to own this record. If you love big sounds on both ends of the spectrum, buy it.
Being a total Bedrock junkie, i picked up this record in the $2 bin, brought it home, and threw it on the wheel of steel.

Side A (the original mix) is a fairly average (maybe below-average?) house track with vocals, strings, and an ok bassline... nothing special here.

However, the B side (the R. Jones Delayed Dub) saves this record from me selling it back to the record store... in fact, i plan on playing it in my next set. It takes the basic synth and filters it, making it muck more developed than the A side. Also, the bassline is retooled, and the vocal sample used is layered perfectly with the track, creating an very nice spaced-out techy vibe.

I reccomend this record for all of you space-heads out there who want a nice, moody, and most importantly, good track for your next set.
I picked up this record because I'm a big Digweed fan, and i immediately fell in love with both sides. The A side gets a sick, sub-frequency bass that shakes the walls of my apartment whenever I play it - massive props to FreQ Nasty & Blim for the remix duties of this song.

The Digweed & Muir remix of "Weekend Warrior" by Terminalhead is a really neat track; no one part of the track overpowers another, and the track is a bit more epic then their releases on Bedrock Breaks.

I got this record 2 days ago, and I plan on using both sides on a radio show next Thursday... and then playing both sides for a show the following Friday. Buy this album!
