Eat Static - 09-May-09 08:49 PM
In 1988 & 1989 i fucking hated dance music. Id only been exposed to lame comercial acts. Then one night in 1990 i went to see Ozric Tentacles at Club Dogs 5th Birthday Bash, an all nigher at The Rocket in London. Eat Static were on the bill, a band id never heard before. It was a techno live act made up from the drummer (Merv Pepler) and the keyboard player (Joie Hinton) from Ozrics. Poison Electric Head, Ozric Tentacles and Eat Static was the line up. The night featured live acts and DJs and fantastic light shows. Back then i was more of an acid head and Eat Static blew my fucking mind. Eat Static converted me to dance music. Unbelievable live.

Senser - 09-May-09 06:04 PM
A real band, playing real instruments a friend once leaned over and said at the Ozrics Christmas Bash in Kilburn, 1991. Of course wed all caught Senser live before, The Senser Sound System, their first release on cassette had been a staple diet of ours for months. This band kicked ass. Shouting what the UKs alternative scene could relate to saw them as a staple diet on the festival scene in the early 90s. Their fusion of heavy guitar chords, bass player, a DJ cutting it up, live drums and 2 rappers was an instant hit on saturday party nights, they were mostly first on the bill. Finally in 1994 they released Stacked Up their first lp. The bands peak.

Holy Ghost Inc. - Falling Into Love House One / In The Groove Of The Ghost - 28-Mar-09 10:56 PM
Holy Ghost had their own sound and this is a fine example. IMO this is their best release with both tracks being good. Buy on sight!

Spiral Tribe / Persons Unknown* - Black Plastik - 07-Nov-08 09:56 PM
More commonly known as the Verdict Not Guilty EP. This was released just before Spiral Tribes flight from the UK, where they were being hounded by the authorities. The title relates to the verdict of not guilty delivered by the courts where 13 members of Spiral Tribe had been charged by the courts of breaking an age old UK law of being a public nuisance for partaking in the Castle Morton free festival which sprang up on Saturday/Sunday 23rd May Bank holiday 1992, Worcestershire UK. The biggest free festival ever, with 25,000 people attending, and one of the last. They were the only sound system there who had charges brought against them, the case lasted 2 years and was reported as the most costly ever for such a crime.
I bought this from Spiral Tribe when they were doing a corner of the park from the side of a truck with Bedlam at the Hackney Homeless Festival in Clissold Park, London, in 1994 while i was off my nut on acid.

As for the music here, solid Spiral tekno.

Unknown Artist - Lost Trax - 21-Mar-08 05:12 PM
The Saturiun System has got to be one of the best tracks ever made, lush strings coupled with a burbling acid line. Sounds remind me of the better releases by E.R.P. Brings a warm glow to my face every time i hear it. Simplistic yet awesome. This shall remain in my box and top ten for a long time.
