Reviews & Discussion:

We all know dungeon dweller and Croatian anti-pope Luka Baumann for his "can't have manslaughter without laughter" techno/industrial. However, on this second discharge on netlabel Bio-Mechanics it seems time has come to meet Luka's softer, Hugh Grant:ier, side.

The first piece; 'Falling Back' is a lush sentimental piece that flirts with both retrosexualism and romanticism with its back-to-basics rhythm programming and easygoing, yet gloomy, chords.

Following up is the utterly dazzling 'Back To Forth' which could, in my opinion (and I am right), just as well be one of the late 20th century outings of our beloved Blueprint Records. Truly sublime and divine.

Third song 'Inception' steps up the mood with quite an uptempo feeling and elegant 909 programming. Likely to appeal to you dubtechno boys out there.

Finishing off the "record" is 'As We Drift Apart' which, with its solemn and glum vibe, strikes one's chest where it hurts the most.

This is the soundtrack of our ogrish lives.

The Sutekh remix is just beautiful. One of very few "minimal techno" pieces that I enjoy.
Female remix is also top class with a very building and progressive feeling to it. Not everyone needs a fat kick to make something somatic!!
Chrislo Feb 19, 2003
Chrislo was member of the legendary avantgarde-electronic-punk-electro-techno (?) group called Liaisons Dangereuses. However, his work as a techno producer are sadly quite weak.
Very good stuff. I am sure Surgeon would hate it though as it is made entirely by Surgeon samples hehe.
