Deetron - The Afterlife - 03-Sep-07 07:25 AM
The A Side track The Afterlife is an absolute belter. The best slice of Techno I have heard this side of the Millenium. Hypnotic Techno to the max combined with a vocal to die for from Paris The Black Fu. Very Druggy, very fucked up. The closest you will get to the absoultely fabulous Lil Louis-Blackout. Intense. Buy it or die!
Like A Tim - Angst - 16-Apr-07 01:29 PM
Love this record. Brilliant squelchy ACID. Like A Tim has released a lot of gems recently on his own label Like Records, and this is no exception.
The music here has a foundation in classic Acid 1988/1989 but is very forward thinking and with some great new hooks. Track B2 is a scintillating experience. A nicely paced Acid monster to brighten up any dancefloor or living room.
Speedy J - Public Energy No. 1 - 03-Apr-07 11:14 AM
The only track that gets pass marks here is "As The Bubble Expands". The rest is absolute dross. I admire Speedy J and like a lot of his output but this release is awful. You can't dance to it, it's too uncomfortable to listen to at home, and many of the tracks sound too similiar. It has no atmosphere, just horribly produced broken industrial beats with no IDEAS. Yuck! If someone wants my copy they are welcome to it if they send the shipping.
Hawke - 3 Nudes In A Purple Garden - 18-Mar-07 12:08 AM
First discovered the track "Three Nudes Having Sax On Acid" on the excellent California Dreaming compilation on Internal Records. The track starts with a fabulous throbbing bassline, some nice trippy effects, and a lovely atmospheric sax that really hits the spot. A real grower this one.
Perfect on a big sound system, turn on the smoke machines, whack on the strobes, and away you go!
Brian Transeau - Relativity - 18-Mar-07 12:07 AM
The Carl Craig mix on this record is a little slice of HEAVEN. His finest remix in my opinion. A very musical tech-house affair, with a bassline to die for. Played by the likes of Laurent Garnier back in the day, this record is definitely worth tracking down.
