Okay, this is one of the best electronic music 12" ever. Quite an strong statement! On the one hand, black sea is a techno slap in your face, a tour the force, what a track! You play this in front of a crowd and you got it all. Extremely strong track, perfectly crafted and with superb sound design and production. It sounds full but not crowded with sounds, the mix is quite dirty in the good sense of the word. Just brilliant!
On the other hand, you have the journey home, emotional, intelligent and one of those tracks that make sense of the tittle, it really feels like in a long journey going back to your home or safe place.
What else can you ask for a 12"?
Excellent release by techno godfather Juan Atkins. I find this release very very good and enjoyable as well as very playable from a DJ point of view. Actually, it seems to me a bit extrange that this release hasn't gained more respect out there. For a starter it's Juan Atkins, it's on tresor records and what's more important, it's incredibly good. Definitively one of the best release of the late tresor camp and a good one in the Juan Atkings late discography.

I'll love to have more Juan Atkins output but I imagine it has to be tough to release stuff when you mostly invented this one genre.

Excellent record from Jeroem!

Following amazing releases from label boss Pacou mainly and others, cache records position as one of the best techno labels in recent times, 2007-2008.

Partial Simulation is a killer late night serious winner, it should be a bomb in the hands of a good DJ. On the flip side Circular is a nice synth-driven fun adventure.
Pacou Ramake goes to the more experimental dubby side of the things.
Great release!
More of this mister Jeroem!
I agree with previous reviewer, Shedding the past is one of the best albums of 2008!
Deep and awesome electronics with a Detroit flavour. Really nice sound design in the Berlin vein. IHTAW is a perfect opener for a DJ session, with those evocative vocals.
A sure winner!
It has a sense of whole self contained statement, which most electronic releases in album format lack. I'll say that the only common factor between songs is the evocative feeling, which makes the album sound as a whole althought styles range from techno beats to more break-oriented beats.
