Profile: I'm 26 years old, and I love music. Drum 'n Bass, Trance, Hard House, Progressive House, Electro, Breaks, Downtempo, Leftfield.......I'm not really fussy. I guess I am a so called 'bedroom DJ' (God I hate that term), but I have made the occasional appearance on internet radio (well, once or twice.)

I'm a Mac Operator by trade which keeps me afloat, and I also do drawings, paintings and stuff – check me Fotolog to see some bits and pieces and things and that.

I am open to offers for most of my tunes, but thats not to say I want to sell them all. There are some that I just can't part with. If I have something you want, then please feel free to contact me....I'm not one of these miserable sods that get arsy about people asking. I have quite a few rarities and some classic sought after tunes that may (or may not) be up for grabs.

Cheers!

Surge (5) - New Order / Blaze Em Up - 20-May-07 02:07 PM
New Order is one crazy slice of drum & bass! The bassline is just something else, huge parpy wah wah wah sounds suck you right into the track, whilst the dirty beats just hammer your mind relentlessly. Exclusively for the jump-up massive, this one will send the crowd nuts, guaranteed.

Various - Here Comes Trouble Volume 7 - Rotation EP - 11-May-07 02:21 AM
Im a little disappointed that this release has got a fairly low rating on here, so Im going to damn well stick up for it. This e.p. is a fantastic foursome of quality drum & bass. I bought it on release because of one track, Photon by DJ Friction, which is a blazing fast paced tune which I still spin to this day nearly 10 years on. I hadnt bargained for the other three tracks being much cop, but I was in for a pleasant surprise. All the tracks on offer here are top drawer material, from the atmospheric mood of IQ Collectives Velocity, through the grinding pain of DJ Reds Killahertz and finishing off with (my personal favourite) Kinetic by DJ Reality, which is just the most angry and aggressive track you could hope for..it sounds like a gang of robotic pit bull terriers getting their danglies flicked with a long stick. Which is a good thing.

So in summary, this IS a great e.p., I still play it regularly which surely is testament to it, being nearly ten years old. Respect.

Kamaya Painters - Far From Over (Remixes) - 10-May-07 01:26 PM
Tiesto and De Goeijs Kamaya Painters pseudonym has certainly been a pretty class act release-wise, although a good chunk of the releases we all know and love are remixes by other people; Chab on Wasteland and Albion (Mr. Corsten) on Endless Wave for example.

Far From Over is no different. Whilst the original mix is fairly average and not really worthy of your full attention, the Oliver Leib remix is simply staggering. It is a masterclass in keeping things simple for maximum effect. No major bells or whistles to be found here, this is pure beats and melody business, but what a melody it is! The track chugs along with a slightly tribal feel to begin with, then after a few minutes the breakdown arrives, mesmerising the listener with pure emotional bliss...youd have to be heartless not to feel something from this track. Likewise, the Wavestate remix is better than the original, although still very far short of coming near the Leib mix.

An essential record for the trance or progressive fan alike. Buy on sight.

Omni Trio - The Haunted Science - 08-May-07 11:09 AM
I was loaned a copy of this by a friend of my sister just after its release, but was told I probably wouldnt like it, because its not dancefloor devastation business. Being only about 15 at the time I suppose I can forgive the guy in question for his assumption that I was like any other young teenager, i.e. devoid of any musical taste. He was wrong though. Id long been a massive fan of LTJ Bukems Good Looking label and its affiliates, so this more relaxed form of drum & bass was familiar to me. This album is a bit different though.

It isnt the same as the GLO stuff. Theres something different about it. The whole album has a very ethereal, haunting presence that draws you right in and keeps you interested, such is the variety of the tracks on offer here. It all kicks off very sturdily with Astral Phase, snappy drums and jazzy notes, then retains this flavour for the next 2 tracks, then drops right down to maximum chill mode in Haunted Kind (which is a truly beautiful piece of music), then back up to strength in the fifth and onwards and upwards to the final piece, the original mix of Who are you?, which rounds the whole experience off tightly.

Favourite track? Probably the Aquasky remix of Who are you?, which is a staggeringly breathtaking slice of drum & bass and just leaves the listener begging for more.

To put it simply, this is a must have album. Just give it a listen and tell me Im wrong!

LTJ Bukem - Earth Volume Three - 05-Feb-07 11:21 PM
As it happens, my copy of this LP (not the promo) is numbered at 8000 and something...so I guess the theory about there being 10,000 copies may be right.

Either way it doesnt really matter, its still a great album (although I personally feel one of the weaker Earth LPs) which is still by no means an insult. You just have to look at the quality of the other albums to get a perspective on just how good a weaker one could still be!

Worth tracking down a copy, even if just to complete your Earth collection.
