Reviews & Discussion:
This is seriously one of my favourite releases of 2005.
The Mateshitz and Spiegel Reflex mixes carry a "straight-up" dark electro feel, but there are lots of small quirky synth stabs that turn them into quite kinky-bizarre tracks. The Time Dilation mixes parts 1&2 sound as they they were remixed by nurse with Wound-wailing voices and synthetic horror-strings that are really creepy. These two hover between electro-esque and minimal(say Horror Inc or Baby Ford). The motivation behind TUTRUR is to promote and release artists and producers who are definitely off the beaten track-which is an understatement.
High-quality,and beautifully packaged Ep and Lp releases is high on the agenda-so is keeping vinyl alive and,as the label hopes, putting vinyl back in its rightful place as the music medium of choice.
TUTRUR packaging and design is as exquisite as the releases themselves-glossy gatefolds, bonus inserts, beautiful and thematic artwork;all are limited pressings and hand-numbered.
With the demise of Invasion Planete, and conversely the resurgence of interest and enthusiasm for darker, more experimental and gleefully difficult-to-categorise electro releases,TUTRUR are an essential label for the Electro-Body-Wave movement.Watch this space carefully.
