Streets, The - Original Pirate Material - 16-Sep-04 08:21 PM
when i first heard this, i didn't know what to think of it. it was certainly different, but in a good way? i don't know, but it wasn't in a bad way; that's for sure. in america, i hear hip-hop a lot and it's usually from radio. most of it all of it is crap, so this was a good change of pace. unfortunatly, because it was so different and unique i didn't understand it initially. now, after repeat listens, mike skinner in my eyes has become one of the saviors of rap in its raw form. not necessary about the beats, but entirey about the lyrics.

luke has become one of those highly regarded producers within the last few years and it's easy to hear why. with his trademark lush melodies and hypnotic beats, he is one of progressive's golden boy. every original production and remix duties showcases why Austrilia is still the hotbed for underground dance music

Röyksopp - Poor Leno - 18-Jul-04 06:35 PM
The original is the best out of the pack, but Sander's can hold up as well. The rest doesn't hold my attention. i really think this group will be great. it's been a while since the album first came out, but their ambient soundscapes are amonst the best in the world for latenite gatherings or easy listening music.

i still think this release holds up. even more so when you compare it to a lot of nu trance albums. although, the sounds of trance today is much harder than the time when this release first came out, everything that "trance" represents is here. look no further when you read the title "Children (Dream Mix)" (also doesn't hurt to have the number one track to convert non-dance listeners over)

Bedrock - Forge - 18-Jul-04 06:20 PM
this took forever to get release. incredibly atmospheric and slow in stature, but man, does it sound great! quality afterhours joint, and the remix by Fretwell rolls very well. fun to listen to in early hours of a set.
