Seefeel - Time To Find Me - 22-Feb-05 11:24 AM
One of the best Aphex remixes very haunting and sounds really good off the vinyl as opposed to the cd only release of it on 26 mixes for cash. Has a very warm sound to this I prefer the slower mix of the two, the percussion sounds very bassy compared to other productions of his.
AFX* - Analord 03 - 22-Feb-05 08:57 AM
Boxing and klop are very magical beautiful pieces of synth music, the pad sounds here just make me melt thyre so liquid.
BOC wish they could do stuff like this, Just hope RDJ keeps on this simple tip, well im not bothered everything he does including smojphace are brilliant.
The midievil tracks are now starting to really push the acid envelope but in an old skool way, number 2 is just doing my head in recently what instrument is that?
Various - Mealtime - 22-Feb-05 06:00 AM
The standout track is the AFX one `bummy` , quite different from his other stuff and wow in this track he has totally cut up the entire soul pride drum break in this one anyone else notice that?
Because it is slowing down and speeding up so he must have sliced it on every single drum hit that in itself is worth hearing. I dont like the rest of the album.

This series is really turning out to be totally awesome. It`s perfect for people who are sick of too much `clever` music like ae etc. Thing is the `cleverness` here is not immediately obvious, I hear some very clever synth programming and production going on, just nicer on the ear than a lot of modern electronic music. The tuning on home made poly is very good, how does he do that? Really crisp production, cryin could be a hit in another time or place.
Baby Ford - Normal EP - 22-Feb-05 03:57 AM
Yeah I love the way this record kinda slipped out but just kept growing on the dancefloor over the years, as it just totally gets the place going a classic dj saving record for lots of party vibez. Amazing break work here and I love the bit where Baby Ford is phoning up RDJ to tell him about the sample in his Northern accent, love it to bits, very crisp production that AFX occasionally turns on to magical effect. This like windowlicker is like a lesson in modern music and production.
