Reviews & Discussion:

This is an album of 7 of the most varied re-interpretations that I have personally heard of any one track.

1) Original mix - deep and heavy kick drum, 96 bpm, almost pedestrian, I would say slightly dark late night dub techno...breaks down into an ambient passage, washes of synth and reverb...deep deep bass...excellent...4/5

2) Mr. Cloudy Remix - warm rain falling against the windows, looking out onto fields of rice in Thailand...sipping a cold beer and thinking that this weather does not have to mean sad faces...very laid back and blissed out...pure ambience 4/5

3) Soulsonic Remix - I am reminded of BvDub on this remix...slow to build and that recognisable vocal overlay with big synth washes, builds and builds and then to fade out...nice...4/5

4) Bubbling Swamp Cmx - back to a definative dub techno re-construction...124 bpm...this track has its own identity...heavy bass with a great uplifting synth, dub techno effects to the fore, introducing all the classic elements along the way...very good again...4/5

5) Herbstlaub Remix - If you own any of Herbstlaub releases...then I consider you very lucky as IMHO this is the finest re-construction on the release...beautiful vocal overlays, uptempo, almost metallic sounding, beautiful glitch...a very individual style indeed...5/5

6) Alteria Percepsyne - this is a close, close second for me on this CD...am I listening to a different track or a re-construction, this remix has everything that I want and more...this has it's own identity, I really, really like this version...Alteria P tracks are definately one to look out for...4.9/5

7) Spaceci Methods Unsound Version - Dub ambient beginnings...the best way to describe this remix? ...ambient dub in outer space! Listen to this and you will understand...this is a heavy track indeed, classic downtempo dub, distorted vocals and synth...a slower version of Plastikman?...I really like the change in pace at this point on the album...4.5/5

8) Albert Van Abbe Remix - I do not try to caterogize...but I am with this remix...this is pure Detroit style, and what a great finish to this release...very very good indeed...4.5/5

...overall I would say this is the finest and most diverse release of this year so far, this year is still young, but me thinks that you will be coming back to this CD in many months to come...buy a copy of this and then check out all the artists individual releases available on Discogs...

Other Heights is consistently producing the finest electronic music at the moment...essential release.
...I agree, a timeless masterpiece...beautiful heart rendering music...never surpassed IMHO...
This is without doubt (IMHO), the best music release this year, this release has everything...ambient, glitch, dub, mimimal...and most important of all, it has soul. On repeated listenings you hear different nuances, extremely beautiful crafted music...this is an essential release...Sasu has moved the genre's on a step further again...in fact why I am I trying to classify this music at all...it has everything...genius indeed.
...this shows that this label is committed to bringing high quality music and product to everyone...a label that seems to care that what they produce is always of the highest quality...well done and I for one will still continue to buy from "Silent Season".

...this is an excellent release indeed, and definately worth getting a copy...but, I am confused, what is "intelligent techno", and therefore, what should all the "un-intelligent techno" people listen too!?
If you have bought the album, why don't you listen to it and then you will find out, or are you just planning on re-selling at a higher price?
When you can understand the darkness, then you will appreciate light...sorry you not understand!
This really is an excellent double pack, from an excellent label...

CD1...lovely washes of synths flow into echo and reverb from the start...big kick drum comes in reminding you that this is a serious dub techno album...ambience overflows with slightly metallic sounding clicks...masterpiece "All you see is a ghost", sure been done before, deep as the ocean, I can feel the sound inside me, slow burner, slow builder, sounds being added over its 8 minutes, building and building, makes me wanna shout out "yeah" when I hear music like this...another deep dubby techno slice of music, simple yet effective, almost a blueprint of how to construct a dubtechno tune..."Cloaks..", "Alone..", two more big dub techno tunes...sandwiched between, "Sinuous..", 9 minutes 32 seconds of drifting ambience, still I can feel the immense sound inside me, superb...

CD2...3 tracks of excellent ambience...then BANG!...10 mins 55 secs of heavy, heavy dub techno, I can feel it and so can the neighbours!, builds and builds and builds, synth, clicks and reverb, oh yes...

...an excellent release indeed, I suggest you try any of the other releases from this label...they are indeed reaching "Other Heights"...the future is looking good...I look forward to moe releases of this quality...over to you!

...when I listen to this, what do I hear, what do I feel? Warmth...a big blanket being put around my shoulders, I cast a glance to my left, the person I love, they are looking after me, comforting me...this is the sound of my life, I feel the ebb and flow, the sounds that are testing my heart. My oh my...Dan and Will's nadir? I don't think so, I feel there is still so much to come...now only Will has the key...my humble thanks.
...for those that choose to disagree, maybe they would like to comment why...don't be afraid as everyone's taste is different, but please be constructive and not personal...thank you for your reply's
