E.S. Posthumus - Cartographer - 11-Nov-08 04:38 PM
A 2 disc follow-up to Unearthed, Cartographer somehow manages to both live up to its fabulous predecessor, and also be a huge disappointment. Disc 1 with the vocalist, Luna Sans, comes across as a disc youd expect to hear in a New Age bookstore elevator. After a dozen attempts to appreciate it, it goes to the never-to-be-heard-again list. Disc 2, consisting of remixes of the songs on disc 1, has the same energy, quality and feel as Unearthed and will get lots of play.

Seeking Pleasure may not be like their other work, but I think it is one of the best albums ever done by anybody- its in my top 5 of all time.
Try approaching it from a non-trip-hop point of view. I play a lot of music in my shop (not a music shop), and Seeking Pleasure is the one that the most people have asked what was playing and then written it down to find later.
