I host "Future Funk" on the CKUA Radio network (www.ckua.com) which broadcasts on FM and AM radio across the province of Alberta in Canada (including both major cities Calgary and Edmonton) every Saturday night/Sunday morning between 0000-0300(MST). Check it out at www.ckua.com. There are 500 audio streams running constantly if you don't live in Alberta and maybe some of you Euro folks can check it out too for some early morning listening! I've hosted many different electronic, experimental and classical music programs in a large city in Canada over the past 16 yrs. We were lucky to have a great store called "Hot Tracks" back in the day that was in the back of this club "Flashback". That's where I got most of my old stuff although "Groove Asylum" was great as well.
Favorite DJs and producers too numerous to list.
Have traded with hysteric, wiz_of_oz, kuma.chan

Crazy Gang - We Are The Crazy Gang - 03-Dec-08 12:05 AM
There is much more to this album than "Every Sunday" and "Telephone Operator." There are a lot of really great fusions like "Discomantic Rodeo" and "Arabian Nights."
It is a very imaginative but still very funky and accessible album.
For me its on a level with Kraftwerk and YMOs best and feel it should be adored as such.
Another of those lost legends that make you wonder how it never got picked up by a larger label or re-released after all of these years.
Die Doraus Und Die Marinas - Blumen Und Narzissen - 27-Oct-08 02:04 PM
I discovered this group through "Lokomotivfuhrer" which was on an old German NDW compilation.
That song is here thanfully in a longer version and this is a very underrated album. It is one of my fave new wave albums. It has punk energy but still uses a lot of cheesy old drum machines and silly cosmic synths.
Infectious and listenable multiple times over people who like Sparks, Telex, Lio and people like that will like this a lot.
Daniel Wang - Untitled - 22-Apr-08 08:06 AM
Finally got my hands on this and its outstanding. "In The Street" of course, is here but theres also a great disco meets detroit track at A1.
But its the side long B-side that will really make you smile.
Its a fantastic deep, percussive, cosmic shuffling disco journey. Almost medley-ish in its heavy and liberal use of vocals from two disco classics. Without getting anyone in trouble Ill just say that one is from the west coast and the other is from New York. One extremely well known, one less known but still a classic in many circles. Vocals from two tracks that would have been very hard if not impossible to get clearence for. And maybe if he couldnt get those artists credited, he didnt want to release it as he seems to be a very "honor the source" kind of guy. So Im guessing the B-side is why this EP was never released. Or maybe after the hassle he just felt like moving on to something else.
If youre a disco fan and/or Danny Wang fan you just have to hear it.
Class Info - Inside - 28-Feb-08 04:33 PM
A very odd, "dark" yet ultimately charming record and one of the most in-demand of the synth pop genre. The cover is still one of my favorites of all time.
Herere my thoughts from my listing from when I sold my EX copy on Ebay for $700. Ive never seen this go lower than $400.
"Those who dont know of this will want to hear this charming, amazing and simply weird record of synth-pop that sounds like a mix of Fad Gadget and Soft Cell but kinda lo-fi and dirty with a sullen Andy McCluskey-type on vocals. He even mixes some rockabilly guitar kinda like Electronicat into one of the five perplexing electro pop cuts here. A shame this never got signed to a larger label, this 5-song EP with a pressing of 500 with fewer circulated is the only known document of this Winnipeg, Canada project from 1983 released on local (possibly their own) Classified Records."
Pluton & Humanoids - World Invaders - 04-Feb-08 12:41 AM
A lot of people want the original but Im surprised that nobody has mentioned the instrumetal yet. Completely different than the main track, a really wonderful different synth chimes in to keep the track on line and warm it up but maximize the full robotic effect. In fact, I like the instrumental better than the vocal now. Blows my mind. Its an absolute classic for me and cant imagine any italo or electro fan not wanting to track it down.
