Reviews & Discussion:
"Push Push". Taken form the album "Rockers to Rockers" that track - an incredible mixture of almost every known electronic style with a dub-feel and a ragga-aesthetic - was exploding on the dancefloors all over the world when it first came out. Well, in Vienna it did. And, as I heard, in London too. Druggy, trippy, peaceful and exciting. A classic.
"Cause I fell on
Black days How would I know That this could be my fate" That song alone (Fell on Black Days) is a reason to buy this record; but the rest is as good (for the most parts): mid-70ies Led Zeppelin inspired tracks, psychadelic heavy grunge rock metal, full of great songs and brilliant arrangements. Designed to be a masterpiece. And "Opus magnum" it is.
Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliff have been given a great gift - the ability to translate the basic ingredients of almost any given electronic music style (garage, disco...) into a dancefloor bomb for those who know (the DJs) and for those that just want to dance (girls and boys). This EP is a good example: the first track is an incredible acid monster, that should appeal fans of Phuture and Moet & Chandon alike.
Produced by Larry Levan more than 20 years ago...still sounds fresh today. Especially the instrumental with its mellow strings and rhytmic handclaps could easily be used in a deephouse set. And people like Daniel Wang played it! Everybody interested in Metro Area and alike should be interested in this timeless classic!

Taken from the 1983 Italian cult movie by horror director Dario Argento "Tenebre" these two disco-versions are masterpieces. The horror-soundtrack of "Tenebre" and the electro-masterpiece "Flashing" will satisfy fans of quality italo disco and electro. Brilliant! Included in "Mixed Up In The Hague Vol." by I-F.... | ||||
