Profile: I am a Vinyl Collector and Occasional DJ. My Musical tastes range from Hip Hop Through House, techno, Drum & Bass (Pretty much anything I like the sound of really...)
I have made some attempts to produce my own material, and would like to spend more time on putting together a small showcase of tracks.

Feel free to check my collection. I may be persuaded to part with some records if the price is right but most are not for sale.

I may also be open to swaps for items in my wants list. Anything rated 3 or under, I would probably part with (Maybe others for the right swap!)

I am listing items for sale through Discogs Marketplace, as well as on websites including www.oldskoolanthemz.com

Reviews & Discussion:

Although I was only introduced to this record in the last few years, it is one of my most rated releases from this era of UK hardcore. Both tracks are superb, with 'Pressing on ya mind' using a sample from the film 'Exorcist 3','Oh gracious me was I raving' to great effect, along side uplifting pianos and quality breaks. The B side track is in a more frenetic style, with classic old skool analogue stabs and hip hop vocal samples 'When the drum beat goes like this'. Hard to find but well worth searching out a copy of this classic. I still can't believe this wasn't picked up by one of the established labels at the time.
A Classic Progressive track, which epitomised Sasha's DJ style in 1993 at Renaissance, 'Feel It' has a quite deep Synthy Organ bass sound and quality percussion. One of the stand out tracks from the Italian producers in this genre in my opinion. Not unlike their track 'Always' but slightly more laidback, and uses the Vocals from Wigan Casino's 'Something About the music'. Definitely one for Sasha / Digweed fans and continues to be one of my favourite tracks from this era.
Whitney Houston - Didn't We Almost Have It All May 05, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
This release, although fairly middle of the road pop, includes the acapella version of 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' famously used by Sasha over Leftfield's 'Not Forgotten' in his sets at Shelleys in the Early Nineties.
Francesco Zappalà - I Need You Apr 16, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
The 'Trip Beat' Mix of this track is a quality techno Edged rework of the laid back A side mixes, and was a huge track with Sasha @ Shelleys in 1990/91. It features the classic analogue stab sound featured on many early nineties House/Techno tracks. A relatively unknown dancefloor classic well worth searching out!
Unknown Artist - Deep Beats Vol 1 Feb 13, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
The track on this EP which is now known as 'Siren' in Oldskool circles, is a truly awesome tune which rocked dancefloors in the North East, where I did most of my clubbing in 1992. It was given a wider audience after it's appearance on Danny Rampling's Mixmag Mix. What most people don't know, is that the main body of the track (well most of it, to be honest!) is lifted from David Morales' Redzone Mix of 'Taste The Bass' by Safire (Even the Horns!!). Just need to get myself a copy now!!
Julian "Jumpin" Perez Featuring Valentino (4) - Stand By Me Jan 30, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
The 'Jumpin Dub' is a quality Underground Piano Classic, which was sampled by Pako in 1991 for his track 'Pakito Lindo'. An original Hacienda Anthem from 1988, with a Euro style years ahead of it's time.
Suggestive - Advances Aug 13, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
The 'Play Boys dub' mix of 'Advances' is a superb, relatively unknown progressive house classic, championed by Sasha & Digweed @ Renaissance in 1993. It features one of the best basslines I have heard, mixed with quality breakbeats and latin vocals, which sounds awesome on a good club system.
Solitaire Gee - Slumberland Aug 06, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
The 'Rhythm Invention' Remix of Slumberland is a superb Bass heavy Progressive monster, with the instantly recogniasble female Vocal sample from DSK's 'Read My Lips' - 'It's groovy Baby....Groovy Baby....it's Outta Sight!' An around quality Sasha '93 Anthem!
Rhythm Invention - Can't Take It Jul 29, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
'Chronoclasm' is a superb breaks track, years ahead of its time and certainly wouldn't sound out of place in a current Breakbeat set. It has an Edgy, quite dark feel, but without doubt some of the crispest Beats I've ever heard!
Toxic Two - Chemical Reaction Jul 25, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
'Trancing Together' is quite unlike anything else produced by Toxic two, and is a quality underground Deep House Track. It features moody Organ chords, floating Female Vocals, and at the main drop, a piano line to die for. Well worth searching out the 12" for this track alone. Superb!!
